Its been a very varied league.
Other than Stop out. No results can be predicted really.
We lost 6-0 to Wests at theirs one week then a couple of weeks later we beat them 5-0.
Ive enjoyed it. Its been quite fun playing against guys my own age again. Still has a lot of developing to do though. Could become a great league in the future.

Nest year is my last year as a player (as far as I know) as I turn 20 at the end f the year. Would be cool to stay on and coach as we go through a few.

If you turn 21 next year you would be eligible.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Ive spent the last 10 Minutes trying to figure out a way to answer that.

Cheers for breaking the ice News.

Naenae were late last year but it might have slipped off the radar.

I need to get to a first team training and talk to some folks.

For those interested, North Wellington U21s have started training.

What time is the training on Sunday? Thought about coming tonight but didn't feel up to it. Its a pretty decent trip for me.

Plus... If I keep going to your things. I worry that you will sneak my name on you list at some point.

I wouldn't worry about it, they've seen you play.

Times are noon Sunday and 6pm Wednesdays.

Of course these are just "social" games of football between a number of Wellington ratepayers at a public park (just in case the council is reading)

Any comments on what the Miramar and BNU teams will be like strength wise?

We (Norths) have had a sudden influx of players in the last few weeks so now have 4 U21 squads of 16, so there is interest out there for this league (although Captial Football have (in my opinion) cocked up  a bit this season by running the U17 League).

The good thing for me is seeing some of our better U21 players graduating into the clubs higher level senior teams which is what it is all about.

It would be a lot better organised .

Tell me why the cannibalising U21 for the U17s was a good thing? They should have let the U21s grow for another season then introduce the U17 League (and perhaps drop the U21 to be U19 as 20-21 year olds should really be playing senior football).

I give up, its not worth even carrying this on (go back and read my main reasoning).

Sorry for offending your pedantic nature.......North Wellington (is that better? Although I do have it on good authority that we do refer to ourselves as Norths on occasion)

Fantastic that U21 is flourishing. This should be the Flagship age group league in Wellington.

Hoping our team will do better as the season goes. (North Wellington Athletic)
Been interesting no knowing anyone. We have a lot to learn about eachothers playing style and whatever.
First game was testament to that. Basically meeting each other for the first time.

Boo.. I still would have been at the Warf if a team was sorted. It was badly managed by the people in charge of the team.
So here I am.

Long live the Warfies

Warfies - 0
North Wellington - 4

We got spanked by Miramar last night 7-1, (although to be fair to my guys 3 goals were well offside and the penalty was very very soft). However even if the ref picked these up it still wouldn't have made a difference they were just to good.

They are a very good well drilled team (well done to their coach) and play good football. They play a great transition game from the back through the midfield  (I told my guys after the game this is how football should be played).

The one thing they do need to watch is the niggly little kicks and shirt pulling they engaged in on occasion, a more onto it ref would have had a field day.

For all that it wasn't a bad tempered game and we look forward to the return match (hopefully on a boggy windswept Alex Moore park to even things up a bit ).

Ive been told that Mar side have a few players from Prem/Cap 1. They looked good in their win over Wests last week also

They did have some very good players so I could believe that, my guys just couldn't deal with their speed through the midfield and became very disorganised.

It would be a good idea to play a high defensive line against them (as long as your defenders are quick) as they tend to drift offside a lot, unfortunately the ref only picked up 1/2 of these last night.

I think next time we play them we will have each team run one side of the line to pick up offside's etc.

After yesterday's display from us (Athletic) and reading this. I am not looking forward to playing them.
We did everything the hard way and we are still struggling with understanding how each other plays.
We struggled with simple things like passing and controlling. Extremely frustrating to watch and be involved in.

Hopefully we get our sh*t sorted out or it will be a very long season.
