Yeah thats a obvious pen for me.
Will be super happy with a draw still. Momentum completely with the mariners however.

Ooh I hadnt considered that , I only saw the part where the defender pulled the forward to the ground

Edit: yeah I dunno about that one, not enough to overturn it in my opinion but if its not given, its probably not being overturned due to the wee push??
do remember ben old got completely shoved with two hands before that brisbane goal a few months ago

To be fair, CCM do not seem to show any signs of fatigue from their travels.

true that. They do not show anything out of the ordinary tonight.
And the ref didn't look into the CCM tackles hard enough either. Some of them were agricultural to put it mildly.

Now we really need a result on the weekend. I hope we don't park the bus from the first minute but try and actually take the game to them

We have to do it ourselves guys, let's not hope for other results to go our way.  Our fate is in our own hands.

To be fair, CCM do not seem to show any signs of fatigue from their travels.

Well in the last 2 weeks, all they have done is bus to Sydney & back.
Their big trip to Kyrgyzstan is in 2 weeks.

Realistically only the VUC (38 pts) can grab a top two spot off the Nix (46 pts) and CCM (43 pts). Mariners won't be as motivated to finish 1st, as much as the Nix - as they juggle their AFC Cup schedule with it's big potential payday. But they definitely want top two as that means they grab Australia's spot in the new AFC Elite Champions League (with an even bigger potential payday).

VUC play Melb City this weekend. Again as Nix fans we cheer for MC. VUC lose, and CCM can probably afford to focus less on the ALM, which will help the Nix.

Edit - oops missed that SFC & WSW can both go to 37 pts, with wins over Perth & Brisbne. Last 2 catchup games. Vamos the Glory & Roar.

Didnt look like a pen to me CCM player charges into the defender who has the ball and they both fall over, foul should have gone the other way for mine. CCM did not deserve to win that at all, they were terrible. their only escape was that City were horrid in front of goal. Kaltak had a mare,

Queenslander 3x a year.

I did not think CCM had any particularly amazing tactics last night - but they ran tirelessly till the last minute.  The whole M City team looked listless, uninspired and kinda switched off, as if the game upset their Tuesday night TV binge plans.
Having said that, Rufer's absence next Saturday is bothering me hugely.

Not to mention that bizarre yellow card given to Roux for a completely legal tackle; meanwhile numerous tackles from behind and blatantly pulled shirts went unpunished.

After being awarded that penalty. Theoharas was using his arms and pushing Mel City players all over the place. Not surprising really though, as the ref was giving him a free pass.

As the Prof mentioned.  Looks more like a free kick to City than a pen to CCM.

Even with VAR that wasn't overturned so surely they saw something I didn't.

Glory eliminated from the Finals after a 1-1 draw with Sydney. Sounds like they dominated against a 10 men Sydney side but couldn't convert their chances.

Glory eliminated from the Finals after a 1-1 draw with Sydney. Sounds like they dominated against a 10 men Sydney side but couldn't convert their chances.

Good result for the Nix, though yes a Glory win would have been slightly better.

But SFC (4th, 35 pts) only getting a point means realistically only the VUC (3rd, 38 pts), can grab a top 2 place (and week off) from CCM (43 pts) or Nix (46 pts, 11 pts ahead of SFC). That's with all teams having played 23 games, with 4 more each to play.

MAC (also on 35 pts) & SFC would both need to win minimum 3 their last 4 games, and hope either CCM or the Nix imploded. They'd need to win all 4 to overtake the Nix.

And yes as I've mentioned before the Mariners will be fixated as much on being the top Australian team (AFC Elite Champions League, so only 2nd to the Nix if Nix are 1st) - as finishing top.

Be great to beat the VUC at the ROF next weekend, to hopefully crush their hopes of a top 2 finish. Maybe Mariners can then do us a favour and let us finish first!

I mean they can't host the GF anyway, if they are 1st and make the GF. That happens it will be in Sydney not Gosford. Meh yet another GF in Sidney.

Probably not surprising given that it hasn't stopped raining for two days.

Nice backheeled goal from Pierias to level things up.
