He had no idea about the Nix last season or any football moments.

Ah well, at least they’ve fully played their hand- Tory Oligarchy FC!

It definitely looked like he was doing or repaying a favour. And he’s not in their league in terms of zeros.

Was rather like that Brimmer shot. Waste of effort.

Edit: besides in football you cut to a shot of the directors boxes where big Jim or the Crown Prince or whoever is sitting with an entourage. You don’t go and drag them down onto the field.

Fairly frenetically enthusiastic game. Not sure about the quality or Gillion's mustache.

Good chance from Gillion, Just straight at the keeper

That was the best passage of play the whole game and it's no surprise it all stemmed from calm clever distribution from Paulsen.

De Vries impressing going forward too.

Nice calm accurate side foot in the corner. Sweet.

Finally, a bit of composure, almost nonchalance, in and around the box from Rogerson. Perfect placement.

A nice companion goal to his AWs one. That one he hammered, this one just precision placed.

Very Kiwi line up on now. I think Mata will fill his boots with the service Sakai and De Vries were delivering. Bit disappointed in May as a presence in the box.
Howieson a little off the pace?

Don't think Roar managed any kind of meaningful chance. Maybe a single shot in the first half that Paulsen had to spread himself for but overall they looked toothless.

Good on AFC getting their first win. Brisbane don't look like they'll be up to too much this season based on today's performance.

Saw a classic old Lotto Kingz top in The Port when the cameras cut to them after full time

That's what I'm excited with a 2nd NZ team. Guys like him getting the chance. Didn't look out of place at all. Needs to work on the end product, but it will come you feel.

Once Moreno is ready to start he might be back to the bench, for awhile though.

He'll get a few more games yet. If he can play at a level something similar to this afternoon then you'd be mad to drop him.

Good signs, but it's only a small sample so far. He, like Auckland will face far sterner tests over the course of the rest of the season.

Gillion was very busy and has a lot of promise.

I honestly think Mata must be close to a start. 4-5 decent pieces of delivery into the box and Brisbane didn’t handle them well. Surely that’s what Mata thrives on?

Not much happening here, Jets are trying but don't have the quality to trouble the scorers. 0-1

They are doing better than I expected though after looking so poor early on.

Jeggo should cop a few weeks for that red card. 0-1

Red card for Jeggo's raking studs was deserved but in most games last season Grozos would've been sent off on VAR review for his studs up tackle a few minutes earlier.

I reckon Grozos was saved by the lack of a closer TV angle for the VAR to look at. It looked a red for me. 0-1

Their tactics with the spare man are odd. They are playing narrow and lobbing balls into the box as though Stamatelopoulos is still there to head it in. MC are dealing with it easily.
