Sorry to say this Auckland team is reminding me of the way Nix club combos helped us at the 2010 WC and 2009 playoff.

Nommag
Max mata is a huge point of difference today, he has been a sniff away from a brace or even a hatrick and his threat upfront gave may a lot of space and time for the great first goal.
I think he is also good at holding the ball for others; much better player today than I remember from his limited time till today.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

18 Jan 05:38
Gillion runs at the player, beats them looks up, can’t decide where to pass from a lot of options, loses the ball.

18 Jan 05:52
Good defensive work today from A-FC.  A good game to watch.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Gillion only had to pass to Moreno for a tap-in.
No matter, game over - surprisingly ineffective Melbourne City go home beaten by three excellent goals.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Gotta say.  I’m enjoying the piney/iffill combo.
18 Jan 05:56
Dunno if that works every week, but it caught them out there and was a good watch. And Howieson finding range too!

Though Gillion could be a big part of their scoring issues…

Banzai!...AIEEE!!!
Gotta say.  I’m enjoying the piney/iffill combo.
Yeah I prefer Ifill over Spoonley, Ifill was on Co-Comms on Wednesday too so maybe it's here to stay?

May scored many goals like that for Newells Old Boys, you can see why he often goes for them

Angle from behind the net of the shot was fantastic.
18 Jan 06:10
Sky Sport Select for the Sydney v Roar game btw
18 Jan 06:16
Switch to 4-4-2 worked very well today.

3-0 against top of the table to return back to the top of the table is a massive result.

Game against WSW will be very interesting.

Three for me, and two for them.

18 Jan 06:19
Against Adelaide even more so.
18 Jan 06:24
Roar take the lead vs Sydney via route one.

0-1
18 Jan 06:29
Hore unmarked, 0-2. Sydney are in massive trouble here.
18 Jan 06:40
Now that is the Brisbane we know and love. Easy tap in for King, 1-2
18 Jan 06:49
And the Roar with another tap in,. 1-3
18 Jan 06:50
Where has this Roar team been all season?

Where has this Roar team been all season?

They’re only playing Sydney.
Nearly everyone has put 2 or 3 passed them this season.
Conceded 2 or more 7 times this season, including 3 Oakleigh put past them in the cup.
18 Jan 07:23
So if Brisbane win this game, does that mean the NZ knights retain their place in History ?

Yeah, also just remembered that Brisbane did well against Sydney earlier in the season at Suncorp, only losing thanks to a Kucharski 90 min winner.
18 Jan 07:38
Wowsers that was a good goal.  No way Smurfs come back from this.
18 Jan 07:45
Good win for AFC. Looks like Corica finally sorted out his attack. As much as i wanted Gillion to suceed he still needs to do lots of work on his decision making. May is not a pure 9 but he us an excellent player. The May/Mata combo looks to have great potential. Do the Nix need a Mata type player to help out Costa?

If you're talking about most consecutive A-League matches without a win, then yes.

The Knight's record is 19, Brisbane had until today lost 16, they would've needed to have lost this game and their next three to have overtaken them.
18 Jan 08:07
Onto a sold out Coopers original rivalry, should be exciting, but please win Adelaide.
18 Jan 08:43
Ah ok thanks for clearing that up.   I had to go back a few pages and re-read the tweet RR posted as I'd misread it.

Fantastic finish by Teague. 0-1

Sydney need to sign a quality CB asap. They really should be trying to outbid WSW for Deng.
18 Jan 09:13
Football Friends one evens it up.
18 Jan 09:21
Another fantastic finish, this time by Mauk. 1-1.
18 Jan 09:26
Owen Gole scores again. 2-1 Adelaide
18 Jan 09:27
Oggie by the Victory, 2-1. Fun game this.
18 Jan 09:32
Adelaide have done well considering Victory went ahead and were dominating shots on goal before they equalised.

Keep it up in the second half Adelaide, I want to have something to be happy about before today ends.
18 Jan 09:40
That own goal not dissimilar to Sheridans against Adelaide.
18 Jan 10:07
Victory equalise!! 2-2
18 Jan 10:11
Adelaide back in front, 3-2
18 Jan 10:23 · edited 18 Jan 10:24 · History
In three games tonight 15 goals have been scored in the mens league.  Incredible stuff.
18 Jan 10:39 · edited 18 Jan 10:40 · History
Yes!! What a match, thank you Adelaide.

That Wednesday match is definitely going to be interesting. Looking at the moment to be a race between Adelaide, Auckland, and even WU for the premier's plate.
18 Jan 10:44
Adelaide are to Auckland this season what CCM were to us last season.  They'll push each other all the way.  We are now 13 points adrift.  We desperately need to win on Monday.  CCM having a big win away will make them favourites in Christchurch.  Big week for us.

What a goal by Pijnaker.

Auckland is so much better than us it's not even funny. For some reason I am enjoying watching Auckland's success, which hurts to admit, but I guess it's good from a NZ football perspective.

Too bad their billionaire owner is a Trump fanboy and their fans have already shown how unlikable they are, sorry, needed to let off some extra steam that I didn't earlier.

We don't need to make this political.
