If it ends up with a kiwi 1 & 2 league and finals finish, you’d have to wonder about our clubs being able to play in Asia.

I like watching them tbh. I wonder if Nando stood out in LOI, he certainly does in the A League.
This is funny, because the consensus in Aussie sokkah twittah seems to be "clinical but boring"
How is that banner in by the works coming along for the T-AFC crew D? More the merrier against the Phoenix!

Think he also has a two year scholarship contract, so actually under contract for next year as well.

If that is the case - and it's a long way off yet. I'd expect a certain billionaire to be making noises to that end, and somehow he'll get what he wants.

Wouldnt think they will allow either of us to compete as long as we are in Oceania. Asia wernt that keen on us being in the A League were they.

Yeah, he is on a 2 year deal. The only difference between a scholarship deal and a senior deal for a player afaik is the minimum they can pay you is based on your age.

For a club, they are outside the salary cap. So much better for them to keep players on scholarship deals as long as you can tbh.

You'd have to work out some inverse metric to stop him from cutting in one too many times.

So they have now increased the stadium capacity and tickets to be one more person then the Nix attracted at the ring of fire 🔥😂

New stock of merch dropping on Thursday which is also useful for the derby and Xmas

If we have everyone available we will be their toughest game yet I reckon.

I'd say a draw is very likely though.

It's more and more creepy that this guy likes making snide little gloats about how he's reading the T-AFC Facebook page, because - as we just found out - one of our admins was actually a troll who were letting these people on.

The mods banned this guy's mates who were literally pretending to be me and my wife, but this low-level harassment - not banter against Nix fans, but attempts to intimidate other AFC supporters out of supporting with this "ha ha we know where you live" routine - is just weird.

There is no way they will let us to compete in the Asian comp unless Bill Foley persuades Asian Confederation to agree for us to change our affiliation to Asia. Will not happen.  And FIFA does not want OFC to die either.
Besides, NZF cannot afford the airfares for us to go and play against Uzbekistan or South Korea.

If Bill Foley is happy to write NZF a $14M cheque every 4 years, then I'd happily see us try jump ship into AFC. Might have to make that $28M if in the future FIFA give mens & womens international teams the same large payout for qualifying for WCs.

What other payments or deals Foley would have to make with AFC's powerbrokers, for them to accept NZ into their fold aka Australia - well that may make $28M seem like pocket change.

In short it ain't gonna happen, and Bill will be looking for better football investments for his millions, than enabling the Black Knights to host some Phillipines club midweek.

What chances Bournemouth doing a tour of Auckland this off season?

And possibly the Nix as well?

Why stop there? Bournemouth, AFC, Nix, Lorient, Hibs & Standard Liege all fight it out at Sky Stadium and Eden Pk for the inaugural Bill Foley Family&Friends Trophy (1 mill to the winner)

Sail might be keen to go to AFC but I can't imagine Corica wanting to replace Paulsen with him. Woud is expected to be the #1 next season when Paulsen returns to Bournemouth so I reckon they'll look at either an older #2 or a development keeper of AKH's ilk.

Unless they have seen a superstar in Woud, I think they will want as much competition for that role as possible next season. So could definitely see them signing another All White keeper and just let them fight them out.

I would actually like the current All Whites number one over Sail and if his team gets relegated this year, that is a very  possible move.

I suspect nando P will get a transfer to Europe after this season.

Was apparently being tracked by league one and championship teams. And has shown he's way better than the Irish league he was in.

I think he is ok at this level, makes a few basic errors/ poor passes each game. He would need to work on eliminating those to go higher

Paulsen has to be a lot stronger in challenges than what he was yesterday. If that's his level of resilience, he'll never make it in the UK or Europe.
And his distribution was poor, hoofing it straight up the field multiple times.
Thought it was a shark of a game. Wellington more creative than Auckland. AFC have a strong defence, and willing runners in attack, and that's about it. There's little subtlety going on. Sakai the most creative spark.
Well done to the Nix fans making the journey up.

As much as I hated losing to AFC I must compliment them on their match day organization. It was a blast from start to finish. Great vibe, amazing ambiance. Normally I am a bit negative about ‘match day bling bling’ but thé place was rocking. Though I still hate Shiite music drowning out the supporters chanting.
Big ups for the YF. I could hear them loud and proud sitting in the opposite stand. I think you benefited from having a roof over your heads to project the sound. The Ports noise wafted away in the breeze. Highlights for me were the fans march to the stadium, the ambiance at the Nix bar, the vibe on the transport, the thousands of Blue and Yellow shirts around town.
I know it’s clutching at straws to try and find anything positive about the Nix losing but for me I never thought I would see such scenes at a match between two NZ football clubs. (though I heard things were rocking at the Wellington derby)

TBH I've not seen him have a brain fart for AFC yet. A League is probably his level or maybe a league marginally better but I still think Bindon and Surman are better.

Bindon has the highest ceiling of all and I can see him ending up better then Nelsen who was still playing football in Canterbury/US Uni at Bindon's age.

Bang on. The Fever were absolutely electric - as I'm sure the Port were, but the acoustics definitely weren't in their favour, what with the lack of a roof.

The roof helped, but I barely any voice left after the game, I think we were also just very very loud.

THIS. I already hate their club but they are doing a lot right, and it's upped the interest in the A-league in NZ. Nobody even talked about the a-league outside of Wellington for years, now we have this big game to look forward to!

I just can't wait to see Auckland lose! Hopefully this weekend...

Pjanker already has two goals and 5 clean sheets to his name 6 games in.

Perhaps he is an example of a player who plays better when surrounded by higher quality players.

If we are being objective... he's doing better than Surman was at this time last year.

The guys jumps on that many bandwagons its a wonder he remembers who he is supporting. Just cant get my head around people saying they havnt seen that in NZ sport before have they forgotten what it was like when we made the semis in 2010 32792 v Newcastle semi final v Victory 2023 33298. or even the All Whites v Bahrain 35194.
What they should be saying is it hasnt been seen in AUCKLAND before seems they are all suffering from memory loss.

Not memory loss, just ignorance - from many conversations I've had with Aucklanders they can often be genuinely ignorant to anything happening elsewhere in NZ - so for them when they say 'New Zealand' they generally just mean 'Auckland' but they assume if something has/hasn't happened there then it has/hasn't happened anywhere in NZ

What he actually says in his intro is that the day at Go Media stadium was "As good as anything I've experienced in NZ sport". Which is not unreasonable IMO.
