Someone updated that real quick. Haven't even seen an announcement from Al-Wehda.

Good deal for him though, although a bit weird given I thought he'd said even up until recently that he didn't want to go abroad again? Given the money on offer though, basically sets him and his young family up for life, more so than what he'd ever get out of staying in the A-League.

Significantly weakens that Adelaide squad too. I haven't been keeping up with their ins and outs, but a quick look at their squad reveals no new additions in the lead up to 23/24...

There goes the safest bet for captain in Fantasy A-League :(

He was excellent at the WC and had a great year last year. Seems like a decent guy to. Wish him luck!

Rather than the APL giving money to clubs for marquees, I would rather them hand out cash to keep the likes of Goodwin in the A-League. He is one of the top players in the league & at an age that he could happily settle down for the long term. Money is probably the main reason for leaving now & some APL cash might be enough to keep him around.

Big blow for the reds and the league.
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Guess they are not really in the position to turn down a million quid

Good move for the Phoenix, Goodwin going. That guy kept on scoring against us.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

If City sign him their squad is going to be scary. All the imports look like they'll be at least above-average visa signings. And then they still have the top attacking local talent with Leckie, Maclaren, and that new Croatian/aussie winger + Good, Behich, Ugarkovic are above average A-League players.

And with other squads not really strengthening I'll be surprised if they don't get their biggest point margin win this season.

He was one I thought Uffie might try and land us, if he stayed at the Nix.

Ouch - can't be great as a club when your signings are players deemed not worth keeping at their parent club within the same league.

Sure. But you probably could have said the same about. Triantis and McGarry. Who both now have A league winners medals with CCM and gigs in Europe. So much depends on environment, opportunities and the relationship with the coach.

Bit of a dig on Celitc's part perhaps?
What were WSW thinking?

Commentary in the Australia Cup match said that Prijovic isn't with the squad today & likely not to be at the club when the season starts.

Not sure but could get messy if Celtic have to pay training compensation for him
