Tony Rallis just signed up David Browne as a client it sounds, they had been talking him up the last couple weeks.

Must have a sister they can pay.

How are they still making transfer moves?  Surely if you are under investigation for this all transfer activity should be halted?  It would in US sports.

They must be confident they are under the cap next year then.

Is it cynical of me to automatically think any players being released for next season at this stage are clubs attempts to get under the cap for next season?

FORMER England and Liverpool star Peter Crouch is the target of an audacious bid by the Newcastle Jets to lure a world class marquee striker to the A-League next season.

Jets owner Nathan Tinkler is in negotiations with Crouch’s management about having a stint in Australia should he fail to earn another contract in the English Premier League.

PETER CROUCH is targeting silverware at the Britannia Stadium after agreeing a two-year contract extension at the Club on Thursday.

SFC do have quite a few injury replacement players, not sure if the players they replaced will still be at SFC next season - if they are then guys like Tavares might have to look at other clubs if they want to stay in the HAL. Ibini is on loan, marquee positions are currently full at SFC and if Ibini's parent club is looking to loan him out again then ... Burns replacement? :P

And Peter Crouch for next season's marquee (says Tinkler).

Most players that have watched the Jets and CCM will be very gun shy unless they are desperate for a gig. Things wont change there I believe until either a new owner is in or a name coach. Thats why I laugh.

Would definitely take Ibini for the Nix if it came up.

There was talk awhile back of Gombau leaving Adelaide and going to coach in Korea, Tribulietx would fit right in there.

The Newcastle Jets today announced a further six players will be departing the club, continuing the overhaul of their playing squad which began during the season itself in rather unorthodox fashion. Sam Gallagher, John Solari, Allan Welsh, Travis Cooper, James Virgili and former captain Taylor Regan have been told their services are no longer required.

As it stands, Jets have 11 on contract for next season. One being the frozen out Carney and the other Birighitti who is out on loan with an option to buy.

I will watch this with interest from a few points of view
  • How will ACFC go without Ramon both from a tactical POV and recruitment POV
  • How will Brisbane go and what imports may appear across the ditch now
  • How will the ACFC fans react to this? In Ramons words, the HAL is a fantastic comp. A few ACFC folk here disagree and I am sure will take umbrage with such words. Are they going to turn their backs on their most successful coach or wish him well?
  • How many players that Ramon has churned out are likely to return to ACFC. Bale? Feneridis? Coombes? Mulligan? Hogg?

Showing empathy for the plight of Glory owner Tony Sage in retaining a competitive squad, Griffin explained: “Several of the clubs have intimated that in the event of a [current Perth] player seeking to break a contract based upon the salary cap issues, then they will not be interested in contracting with those players as they do not accept there is any proper basis to terminate the contract and it should be fulfilled.

http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2015/04/28/rival-club-bosses-promise-not-pillage-perth

Surely clubs getting together to basically force people to stay at the Glory is rather dodgy?

Very exciting, will be interesting to see how he goes in the Roar, which by all accounts is a fairly hostile environment. Hopefully they give him the benefit of the doubt like they did with Ange and left him find his feet and build the team.

Can't help but think this is a huge loss for NZ football, hopefully he comes back in some capacity in the future,.
