Kruno Lovrek's out for the season too now. Great season he had.

Edit: Tony P's informed our forum it 4-6 weeks. Which I guess is the same thing, thereabouts.

This is more about Adelaide & their reaction to ADP not showing and an article criticising grown men crying that he didn't show.

A non football sports writer (mostly ALF) got stuck in & this was Simon Hill's reply.

Needs to be over 6 weeks for an injury replacement. Bit longer might have been useful for your cause.

Didn't see the game, but from what I have read a ban is probably deserved. But I think 3 matches seems excessive, minimum is 1 game for abusing officials. This should set a precedent in relation to how the officials are treated, but it won't.

Also questions have to be raised about how late in the week they 'discovered' this offence. It has left Sydney in a horrible position.

[Edit: deleted a comment, because I found the latest copy of rules and the bit I referred too has been removed - http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/site/_content/document/00000068-source.pdf  ]

He was charged under 9.1 (c) (i), so that draws a line in the sand by saying it was deemed to be a red card offence. What Griffiths did should be a red card for every player in the league now.

You would think so.

Watched the game and he was going off at the officials for most of the match, could have and should have been carded. Not sure why he wasn't.

While I'm absolutely delighted to see Nutcracker in a sense made a scapegoat the timing of this is curious. I'm fed up with lip reading the ubiquitous 'fuck off' directed at officials every time a decision doesn't go a player's way.

We saw the rare sight last night of Ivan Franjic being very quickly pinged with a yellow card for doing just this, so maybe there has been an official acknowlegment that this behaviour is unacceptable and we'll begin to see a clamp down from now on. A few reds and yellows will sort the problem out very quickly.

Very interesting that Sydney won't appeal. I wonder if they now know exactly what he said and don't want it going public.

Don't think he was going to play against Roar, vented his anger. I would be angry too if McFlynn was picked to play.

Could see if there are enough 'exceptional circumstances' to get him as an injury replacement for Pantelis I guess. Hard News would pull out the ban stick for suggesting it tho.

[Edit: Window is open until the 14th Feb]

Surprising news. Culina is normally such a quiet, self-effacing guy.

As daft as it sounds, what do we have to lose for 6 rounds. Offer him a life line.

Him, Cernak and Muscat would not be too shabby in the middle.

Second club in a row he's been sacked from. Says a lot about him.

Three for me, and two for them.

Elia Santoro @Elia_Santoro

1. What happened was they were playing a training game on Friday. Farina asked Jason to swap shirts with Triantis and play on the other side

2. Jason interpreted this as meaning he wasn't starting on Sunday. He refused to swap shirts. Was told to do so. Took it off.

3. Flung it on ground and walked off swearing at Farina in front of team and members of public. I know as I was there.

4. Farina and Corica talked to Jason privately afterwards. Told it was unacceptable & unprofessional.

5. Coach is in charge, just like at any other workplace. Jason asked to do something totally normal and acceptable.

6. If I dealt with my boss the way Jason did on Friday, I'd be sacked. Jason should know better and that's the heartbreaking part.

7. It is a shame because of all the help Sydney FC gave Jason & Farina was the first to select him as a Socceroo. Two outstanding men

8. heard that Corica, Kalac and McFlynn all supported Farina. Obviously so did Board. Pity it came to this.

Wow, massive over reaction if that is true.

I don't have a long list of not in any circumstance signings but he's on it.

I don't know... any other season I'd agree with you... but this one...

Doubt we'll put up enough cash for him in any rate. So probably a non-issue.

Unveiling young Australian striker Jarrod Kyle tomorrow morning.

Sydney FC are set to unveil young striker Jarrod Kyle as their latest signing on Wednesday morning.

In a timely boost to the Sky Blues' top six hopes, the 19-year-old will see out the season with Sydney and could come straight into the squad for Saturday night's crucial home clash with Adelaide.

Kyle has spent the last three seasons on the books of English Championship club Sheffield Wednesday, playing with the club's academy team.

Despite being named the Owls' academy Player of the year last season, he failed to secure any first team opportunities this season and decided to look for opportunities elsewhere.

The Gold Coast youngster has spent the past week trialling with the Sky Blues and has impressed coach Frank Farina enough to secure a deal with the two-time A-League champions.

News of Kyle's signing comes just a day after the club decided to release former Socceroos midfielder Jason Culina following his bust-up with Farina at training last week.

Kyle will add much needed depth to Sydney FC's attack, which is still without the suspended Joel Griffiths for another week.

Probably best to take the FFA/Neill angst into this thread.

Biggest question for me, is why is the FFA helping pay for Neill when he hasn't committed to next year. At this stage it is "until the end of the season". Still can't find any official confirmation that it is a guest stint.

Heart wanted him for the rest of this season and next season. They should have got the help, rather than Sydney a stupid maximum of 9 game guest stint.

Gallop was quoted in an article as saying it was a guest stint.

FFA throwing money for that is ridciouslous.
