Kevin Airs @KevinAirs442

Lucas Neill on $10k a match at Sydney, Heart offered around $14k a match. Total cost $70k - not breaking the bank (or cap…) at Sydney.

(Although that is presumably plus whatever the FFA are paying too…)

ADP just extended his stay at Sydney for another season.

I seriously thought that happened about a week ago. They've been signalling it for at least two months now.

This is the league table, since Farina was appointed coach.

Found it interesting how big a turnaround he has made.

Bastard Farina, look how shit we've been since he started coaching Sydney

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Took a team in a right shambles at the bottom of the table, and turned them into a team competing for the top 4. Not a coach I would l want for us, but I can see why Sydney re-appointed him. Whether he can keep it up long term will be interesting.

Yeah you kinda get the feeling that Farina is one drink away from fucking it all up.

I don't think it will happen again.

@SydneyFC re-sign Terry McFlynn on 1-year contract. GK Ivan Necevski also signs on for another year while Peter Triantis signs 2 year deal

I guess the re-signing of mcflynn balances out the re-signing of ADP

Allegedly

Necevski? He couldn't catch a cold at the start of the year and when they finally dragged him, Sidnee started winning.

Hmm random thought.. whats gonna happen to Carle next year? He's apparently on loan over in the UAE, but if he was to return next year...then theres definitely a cap breach there surely

Apparently they have room in the cap for him next season.

So if Neil returns next year they will have:

ADP (Int Marquee)
Emerton (Aus Marquee)
Antonis (Youth Marquee)
Joel Griffiths
Nick Carle
Lucas Neil

If Culina had stuck around then they would need even more "imaginative accounting"

Neill is only a guest stint. I have doubts over how much space they for Carle but had a debate about this on twitter with a Sydney fan. They are fairly well in the know and reckons there is enough cap space to bring him back under the cap.

If the A-League didn't want us to be skeptical, they would do what the MLS do, and release how much each player is getting paid.

Then someone could release what extra payments they are getting outside the published cap <cough> - Gold Coast - <cough>

Problem is in this case the FFA are more than likely in on it. When as when the Melbourne Storm were doing it they were running two sets of books and were found out by the NRL or whoever they employed to investigate it. FFA are hardly going to hire someone to investigate their own dodgy dealings.

Sydney FC ?@SydneyFC

@SydneyFC has released a Limited Edition piece to celebrate the clubs record victory this season against Wellington http://admin.ffa.sportalhosting.com/site/_content/document/00001203-source.jpg
Ouch.

I was considering photoshopping together a "Humiliated" version of this, commemorating their 7-2 loss. Might do it tonight during the A-League.

Australia captain Lucas Neill has been ruled out of Sydney FC's crucial A-League clash with Brisbane Roar on Thursday night.

Also means that he can't play in the playoffs if Sydney make it. Guest players have to play at least 4 games of the regular season to be eligible to play in the playoffs.

betcha they wont enforce that rule if sydney make it

Can't see anything in the CBA saying they have to play 4 games. Only mention is that in order to be eligible for the finals, Guest contracts must be lodged with the FFA before the start of the 4th to last round starting.

Permalink Permalink

Slory only played 3 games for Adelaide in 10/11 before playing 2 finals games on his guest stint. But the latest CBA has been updated since then. Not sure if the Guest stint rules changed in it.
