Or maybe they did make a $2million offer to an Australian forward, it just so happened it wasn't Burns but Cahill (someone who actually warrants $2million) but that part got lost.

Professional football as a whole is a conspiracy by Monsanto and the Illuminati to distract us all from the chemtrails they spray on us to depopulate the earth to allow the lizard people a chance to interbreed with the aliens at Area 51 and create a NEW WORLD ORDER. Cahill,Burns, the agent, the Chinese club, Gareth Morgan, Ned Zelic, Dale, THEY'RE ALL IN ON IT!!!! WAKE UP SHEEPLE!!!!

Alilovic got whiffed of an offer to Burns. Thoughts he wants some of that action. Makes up some bullshark to derail it. Offers Cahill as an alternative.

Because Burns has more than 6 months to go, Shangai can't officially talk to Burns without the Nix's approval. He could have been hired as an unofficial third party to get an idea of contract and Burns' interest in moving before Shanghai decided to make any official contact with the Nix.

Doesn't Burns have 18 months left on contract?

Shanghai Shenhua now have their full complement of foreign signings and are not looking to release any, so looks like that has put the story to bed.

Focus on the golden boot Nathan and then you'll get more ridiculous money offers at the end of the season.

No thanks. Don't like his mentality or even the sight of him. He can get fudged.

It's  nothing a beer can't  fix HN. It could have been worse, so eone might have suggested we make an effort for Nutpuncher.

True that he struggled with getting a chance to play, but that has also been the case with Burns.

Appiah simply ticks a couple of boxes - does not take up a visa spot, is available, will not demand an expensive deal, and to my best knowledge is not presently pursued by Shanghai Shenhua.

Contracting him (if it comes to that) sounds like an insurance policy in case we develop a dire need for another striker.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Reading between the lines it could mean he's open to playing for the All Whites.. if not, I'm sure a few months in NZ and he'll be convinced.

I reckon a 'rest of the season to prove yourself' deal, including some WeeNix time to try and make a mark for a place next season makes alot of sense for both parties.

Especially if Boyd is going at the end of the season as the rumour mill has suggested - we might have a replacement waiting already

Where's all this talk come from that Boyd is going to leave?

He is off contract this season and hasn't signed a new deal. Hence the rumours that he is being frozen out until he signs a new deal, along with the rumours of him wanting to go play in the MLS.

Dont think Boyd will be here next year. Has barely got a sniff this season.

Boyd is the far better player.. would rather we kept him.

In some ways I would not blame him for looking elsewhere, he has hardly had enough playing time, admit it that he is a great impact player off the bench, such as the 2 great goals against Adelaide on the 31st December.

Where was he on the weekend, when we realy neede him for the last 20 minutes???

So... Appiah-Kubi?

If he's not asking ridiculous money then it's a no-brainer for me. Unless he's a complete knob he fits well with the style Ernie has us playing, he's a kiwi and is great cover for players we already have.

I think he would be a good player to replace Cunningham. I would still like to see Boyd stay as well though. It's not like we will have heaps of striking options.

Cunningham doesn't warrant a visa spot, would rather see Boyd/new kiwi hang about and release Cunninghams spot for a top drawer Striker (HAL top drawer that is)

fast yes. Kiwi yes. Aside from that?

Probably makes Awa Mabil look good based on what I have seen.

Happy enough to see him signed on a trial for rest of season but expectations fairly low
