Sure. But I was thinking three or four more than last season.

He's young, strong, competitive, got two feet and a great crosser of the ball.....what's not to like?

Rogerson, Stephens, McGarry (who can play anywhere).  All have been involved with the first team in pre-season so all a chance of a deal.  Cherbal  Kochaba (Sp?) scored a couple of rippers in the weekends cap prem game.

...and, Cahill-Fluery is also developing nicely, not perhaps yep to the level of Rogerson, Stevens or McGarry, but still developing nicely.

Tam DiMario's left foot from distance is coming on well too... nearly curled a screamer into the top left corner from outside the box in the Cap Prem final on Saturday, and then had another very exciting fling from outside the box vs. NZA yesterday too. (Not that anyone is going to play Tam as a striker - he's not a striker - but nice to have full backs who can let it rip from range as well. The more I see fo Tam developing the more I like what I see.

Gulley must be there or there abouts too (alongside the top 3 mentioned by News, although, not a striker...)

So Rogerson, DiMairo and whom else?

You would think with this Fenton injury that Dimairo would be quietly having a gee up to himself.

Watched the Sarpong  clip. Initial thoughts were 

Can play off both feet
Likes to cut back in ala Ifill
Can hit a ball
Could lose 3-5 KG.
If you are not paying attention, he will skin ya

McGarry, Blake, Stephens, Gulley, Singh, Evans, Stroud.

McGarry certainly in the top 3 for me.

Haven't heard much of Evans since ASB. Has he been playing much in pre season?

During the preseason games I've seen/read about he's only ever played CB, while the likes of McGarry, Doyle and Gulley played in that wingback role.  I got the impression he was well down the pecking order for the FB/WB role.

He was playing right-ish back (either as a right back, right wing back, or right most CB, depending on your point of view) yesterday in New Plymouth when he came on.

...and all the pre-season games I have seen.

Evans and Stroud have not had much of a run pre-season but both impressive for the WeeNix.  Evans is solid and I think hasn't got some of the recognition he deserves.  For a while most of the back line were out broken and he was carrying converted wingers and midfielders in the back line.

Obviously they are pretty young for an A-League deep end but certainly show enough potential to make the grade.

How did he go there?

Brenton Speed whipping out his balls on twitter saying that Sarpong will be the signing of the season.

Speed is generally a complete numpty, but I hope he's right on this one.

So we now need a decent kiwi or Aussie CB. Thoughts? Any chance Tzimopolous might come on down? Or are we looking more at the likes of Eagar or someone similar from Australia? Are there any  decent Aussie CBs with pro experience currently off contract?

There is the new 'mature aged rookie' salary cap allowance.

Someone like Eager would fit that bill.

Eager has just Captained South Melbourne to their 2nd NPL title - That's three titles in three years (first one with Northcote City)

Hudson and the #alignment make him playing as a striker. From what I remember he was an attacking midfielder and in the U-20 World Cup he was pretty poor as a CF
