why am I receiving texts inviting me to join because I haven't renewed - when I did ages ago!
I haven't received my Northern Pass yet. Has anyone else?

Perhaps they want you to pay for another one to boost membership numbers officially?

Late to the party, but on-board now...and then like others, I get that text from the nix about not renewing yet?....Perhaps after round 3, i'll get another text from the nix saying thanks for renewing your membership see you at the first game on the 8th Oct...noice one!

Probably a stupid question, but does anyone know if the Northern Memberships will stop being available at any point up until the first home-away match?
Also, were did 2,000+ memberships disappear too from last season (Hello, is it me you're looking for???) bloody hell!

That was very cool and the gang of you my uce. I think others (myself) should follow your great example. Plus the talent base is fantastic in P-town. Win win.

Just got off the phone to ticketek. Apparently there was an error in the dispatch of some of the membership cards and they were sent out this morning. Anyone else who hasn't received them yet should get them by the end of the week.

Yeah the guy said there was only an error with some of the memberships. I'd give them a ring if you don't have it by Friday.

Phoenix members can also use collection booths at our first four home games of the Hyundai A-League season at Westpac Stadium.
Dunno if it is just me but the fact the Nix Family Day is on this Sunday had slipped under my radar. So just thought I would point it out in case Im not the only one.
Hi, I've just moved back to Wellington after 8 years away and was excited about getting back into the Nix this season. Was looking forward to being able to take the kids too as I thought the games were usually around 5pm, but I've just looked at the fixture list and it looks like most of the home games at at 7.35pm, is this right?
Okay, Brenda says the Northern and NSW Passes will be the last to be processed; delayed until all the Club Membership cards are sorted out; expected time of arrival "sometime next week". All those legends about her efficiency seem to be accurate!

Yup. You have Fox Sports to thank for that.
Apparently Fox runs FIFA.

I'd seen mention of it, but then couldn't find any info; was half-expecting the game, etc on Sat to double as the open day.
Not sure if this fits in this thread,
But 2 of my children received "Memberships" for the first 3 games of next season, with an option of extending for the full season for only $20.
Along with this, their was a free adult ticket with each of the packs for the first game.
The mail was addressed directly to the kids, so needless to say, I have 2 very excited children with their memberships and will be now be a certainty for the first game.
I think you're being a bit unfair there. When Atheltic Park was replaced with Westpac Stadium the capacity shrunk considerably and fans were almost all seated under a roof. At the time that was considered a huge improvement in spectator facilities.
It's easy now to look at it and say "35k was too many" but for the money being spent it's not surprising that they tried to maximise seating. And in the early days it was regularly full for rugby and cricket. Now, not so much.
Hindsight is 20/20 but I'm not sure criticism of the decision to build Westpac stacks up that well if you consider the context of the time.
It took 15 years and a World Cup quarterfinal for a cricket game at the Stadium to be full for the first time.
There's no way the stadium should have been built with a smaller capacity though, given rugby's populatiy in the early 90's. Can make an argument that cricket should have been left to the basin and Westpac be built rectangular, but it would have still had to be more than 30k capacity.
The simple fact is as Smithy has said, the stadium would not have been built had it not been an all purpose stadium.
In hindsight probably not the right way to go but 20 / 20 vision and hindsight and all that stuff
So this.
There was zero criticism of the stadium for the first 10 years, it is really very recent that this has become a thing - and it is justifiable, stadiums have moved with the times, the stuff being built now is awesome.
But at the time, the design, location, and pretty much everything about our stadium was considered pretty fantastic. I remember the first games there, and the common refrain was "you can see everything from everywhere, every seat has a great view".
What we take for granted now, we did not take for granted then.
It's hard to remember, but just simply having no pillars, seats raised above turf level, and being mostly covered, was a big deal back in 2000. There just weren't any stadiums like that if you think about what was around the rest of the country.
In the 90s we were all very accepting of the fact that being presented with live sport metres away from us was basically considered a privilege. Lots of travel to get there, being cold and wet, putting up with disgusting facilities, being crushed in on benches with poor views, only being able to buy chips and hot dogs from caravans, these were all things we accepted and just dealt with. Not having those inconveniences all of a sudden meant that we were all blown away, and in raptures about how awesome the new stadium was.
Now we're back to square one - we've gotten used to all that, we know there is much better out there now, and we want it.
It's natural evolution, and we will get all that stuff, some of it is happening now, but lets not re-write history. The 2000 version of our stadium was successful, and very well liked.

Don't you kind of miss the Millard Stand swaying 6 feet either direction during Southerly gales?

Ha!
When I was a kid I was honestly scared of falling down the stairs and just tumbling down and right over the edge. It was so steep, that looked easily possible to me.

I got pissed on in the Millard Stand once when someone taking one off the back misjudged the wind. Mind you, can't blame him, the toilets were straight out of Mt Eden Prison. We've definitely come a long way since then.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Loved it up there. Could watch the play unfold as if the field was a chessboard. Didn't matter whether the weather was shark or not, you always had to wrap up warm, as it was freezing once the sun dropped behind the stand.

Ours arrived today.
slow trickle towards 3k. Maybe the vic uni visit today will bring in some new members

They mentioned 8000 registered junior players. So potentially thousands of nipper nix tickets. Sounds like a big job. Still waiting for ours. Sounds normal. Very good idea to offer the season upgrade for $20. Works out at about $3 per game if you take the 3 free games off the total of 10 wellington home games. Cheers school C and i mean C math.

3K 3K this could also be the opening Phoenix chant for the first game. Also what Kosta earns per day.

God that's frustrating always seeing that gap, as you know the FFA sees it.
4 days till Aleague kicks off. What's the odds on my NSW membership arriving before the weekend? I'm thinking 70/30 won't arrive
Just renewed our 2 so add them to the numbers. Tried to renew when the original email came but the login didn't work, and neither did going through the forgot password link. And with other things to pay for etc I didn't get around to chasing it up again until it suddenly just hit me that I hadn't done it yet and it starts this week! Got through to the famous Brenda on the phone and all sorted in about a minute. I have visions of this one lady in the head office basically running the entire office side of things on her own!
