"Definitely a Winger" instead of "Not a Striker" ??

Hey, I've heard a rumour that the Nix trip to China is really to check out a player by the name of Lei Lei Goa. Can anyone confirm this??

What are the chances of a defender from another team getting a release and coming over here?

IIRC, WSW and Perth are quite stacked with defenders. Would gladly take someone like Djulbic or Hamill if they find it hard for game time...

Nix trialling two young aussie strikers. Frustrating for our youth really...

Which Kiwi strikers would you suggest?

Im all for trialling young players from anywhere,  if our youth arent good enough bring some in that are.

So sign a guy in a forward position that logan rogerson could play?

If he's a better player than Rogerson, then yes, by all means.

Rogerson is already a Phoenix player though.  It's not like these players are being looked at instead of him but as well as him.  If he actually played to the levels of promise he showed and the hype around him these guys wouldn't get a game ahead of him anyway

There was some Chit Chat a while back but nothing came of it.

Well according to the FFA we're not doing enough for Australian Football so here could be our chance to amend that...

That's a shame, he's pretty good. Very similar player to Sergio Biscuits

I dont care what nationality any of our players are that we are trialling. If they are better than what we currently have, then we should really look at them with the idea of improving our squad now rather than waiting 3 seasons to find out.

Could be a good idea if Ernie Merrick had a look at some of the Auckland City players and young players from the ASB prem. A good signing could have been Brock messenger but sadly he went to a collage team in the us. He is an attacking and defensive rb, also he got goal off the year in the asb prem.http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=11598224

This means that Ernie should pay more attention to the young talents in the asb prem, either get them in the reserves or the main team.

A collage like this? Pity that he gave up football for arts and crafts

Its true this guy posted this on his page on the kiwi oversea players ''He is there on a pro contract with training being full time. It is a televised league. I think most people would see this as a stepping stone, a chance to play football full time and get exposure to wider Europe. In New Zealand central league he was training twice a week so it's a step up at least in intensity''. http://www.yellowfever.co.nz/categories/kiwi-players-overseas/topics/angus-kilkolly-fk-panevezys-lithuania

I still don't know, I've been to football games in that part of the world before, and the teams are only getting ASB level attendance - and that's in the first division! I see no way that the second tier can be professional, let alone the first tier.

To put things in perspective, he's playing in the second tier of the third most popular sport of one of the poorest and smallest countries in the european union. Killkolly might be pro, but I doubt the whole team is. Unless someone like Vladimir Antonov has a sentimental attachment to the club and wants to throw a few million around while he's in jail.

Hes in europe which is good and if he impresses people will no his name, people would have no clue who is if had stayed in the asb prem.

"Pro Lithuanian team". Okay surely we're all taking the piss.
Their teams still need to qualify for the Europa League. That's on par with Maltese, Andorran and San Marinese teams.
Not even some Lithuanians would know about their 'pro' league.

I still think we should ask WSW about Brendan Hamill. They signed 2 more CB's ahead of him, pushing him to 4th/5th choice and would be their back up RB. He will be taking up more cap space than that role requires, so they might be willing to cut him to make room for other signings.

More of a Fox than a Sigmund, though. We need an established CB, whether that's an import or not.

Not suggesting signing him instead of an import but in addition too one. Currently we only have 4 defenders on the books and that is including Fenton as one of them.

The club have looked at close to 100 options from all corners of the world in the Centre-Back hunt apparently.

Hoping that is a promising sign.

Is that the same as HAL clubs saying they have received CVs from around the world for their vacant managerial position and then end up hiring an ex HAL manager?

So which HAL cb are we getting?
