Is AJ going to be the best player who never plays for us?

Merick said in an interview on the herald that we will find out early this week, so not too long to wait to find out.

My Birmingham City contact says he is still over here and it is being reported over there it was a FIFA stuff up. The fact he is still here bodes well that it might be sorted, otherwise he's be back home playing for the Brum U21s you'd think.

He was tweeting supporting the team during the game.

We need players with that kind of attitude.

What watching the team play rather than soft porn?

all he said was "what a first half that was" - he could have just watched the first half of 50 shades on blu ray.

Allegedly

Nonsense. Of course we would.  In the game against WSW, there was a strong and dominating power play, pretty much non-stop action, and a tidy finish.  Whereas in the "Fifty Shades of Grey",  ..... wait a minute, what was the question?

I hope he gets to play, he had me so excited.

Yeah me too, but they are right, FIFA won't want to set a precedent allowing clubs to complete a transfer after the deadline passed

We must be starting to annoy the shark out of FIFA at this point (NZ football as a whole, not the Nix).

The thing is is it setting a precedent when all the paperwork was done a few days before hand by all parties but just wasn't accepted by NZF? It's all electronically entered into the FIFA system and hopefully time stamped.

That is the only bit that could work in our favour, but think it is still setting a precendent. Maybe other clubs will get it entered before all the paperwork is signed just so they can say it is in before deadline. This is assuming they can enter it without paperwork being signed, never done an international transfer.

Sounds like Jones will be packing his bags.

What a huge, colossal disappointment that is. Feel sorry for the guy but at least he got a free holiday.

The fact is that it was entered and accepted by several organisations including the recieving and loaning clubs and two out of three FA's.

Feel for Alex, also feel for the club, this is not a spur of the moment signing for them, they have been courting this player for 9 months and obviously wanted him long term. Also probably ends up costing them? They have a legal agreement with Birmingham.

Phoenix City should ring that number up above posted by feverish and hound them FairGo / Campbell Live style camera in the face and everything.

Finally:

NZF will not want to comment on this, and will want to sweep it under the carpet like they do with everything else. But their decisions effect so many people, and not just now but our reputation for years to come. As someone else said here, will this make it more dificuilt to sign foreign players?

Sorry for Alex Jones.

Totally understand the FIFA decision. The had a good laugh at all the excuses and moved on. I guess they did not spent more than five minutes on the case. Why should they?

Like it isn't hard enough for us to get players to this f*cking club. What a complete an utter f*ck up.

Why would NZF close shop on a public holiday when its the last day for transfers for the sport they bloody run?
