Severe case of the guilts not going but when it's a school night and the fireworks are tonight it meant something had to give.
Should have gone and seen the Nix fireworks aimed at the cesnas

Interesting atmosphere tonight. I went with a workmate and sat in Aisle 26 - very sparsely populated area.

Good to hear the smallish FZ on song but hard to get anything going where there isn't mass. On Sunday it will be back to Aisle 23 with the whole famdamlee.

Well done to you mental FZ YFers who displayed your man b##bs tonight @ 80 mins... ("You are the fever, the yellow fever and you are mental and you are mad. you are the most loyal football supporters, the world has ever had")

Quite agree junior fever made the night sounded good from Aisle 11 to. There may have only been 4000 there but thats twice what GCU got last week, taking into account weather, well theres no comparison.

To the FZ zone keep it up you are the best and getting better and it is obviously appreciated by those on the field too.

3 points on Sunday will really get the show on the road, given a good day and a bit of hype could we expect a crowd of 10000 ??????

You would hope it would be a big crowd this Sunday. Last game before the All Whites, coming of some great results at home. Weather will play a part.

I am predicting 8, but quietly hopeful we can pull something out and get over 10.

All Aboard the Phoenix/ All Whites Bandwagon!!

gutted i can't make it on sunday. i'm coming up for the All Whites game on Wednesday, but hopefully will be living in Wellington again soon, so then i can get to all home games. good times

The NIx should put the call out to any person in the Wellington region with an All Whites ticket to get along to the game on Sunday. Support football, not just the one match.

I thought they might even give out 1 free ticket to the Perth Game if you bought an All Whites ticket, kinda like when the Galaxy were here.

Bad crowd again! but the glory hunters, polititans and dorklanders will be there on the 14th, I hope they are proud - It's the same all over the world.

While would they do that:
All White is NZF
Phoenix is Terry

Would have been better to do two for one tickets this week.

Couldn't stay up in Wellington for the Perth game on Sunday as I have Rhys Darby to see on friday among a few other things but hopefully the Phoenix can pull 10 000.

Id be gutted if I didnt see more then 8000. Reading crowd forums this season there have been a variety of excuses but the most likely was that we simply werent winning. Now we have won 2wice at home in a row, 9 goals in two games. If the wellington public cant turn up to this game id be slightly worried if I was Terry

I'm convinced I've only seen on bus stop ad for these past 2 games, and that's the on on the corner of Victoria and Dixon, I genuinely haven't seen any other ads anywhere?

I dunno, maybe I've just not noticed, but for some reason that's the only one I keep seeing.

Have seen quite a few adshels around the town. A few down at the bus station and there have been some at my bus stop through the season, as well as around town. At least 9k surely for this game. Would be disappointed with anything less.

I think if the midweek game was next weekend,we would have had a lot of out of towners come early for it,but then that wouldve screwed up the all whites somewhat.

I wonder if we'll get a slight bump in crowds this weekend from out of towners coming here a week early to catch the nix game too,and making a week holiday of it? Probably not significantly i guess..

I think the crowd for the Newcastle game was great,
Mid week, Artic weather, 10 degrees with a 60 k wind.
I would not go in those conditions. The Newcastle players have not had those conditions for at least two months.
In saying that, they were crap.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago

Yeah, heard it was supposed to be even hotter tomorrow and then poos on Sunday, which sucks. Hopefully I'm wrong.

over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
It's gonna be bloody 30/32 degrees in Melb on Sat/Sun. Usually the weather is kind of similar in Welly and Melb (just a bit  hotter here and colder there obviously)

Yes, hopefully. No one wants to suck poos on Sunday.

It is looking like a hot day today but...

Why?! It REALLY wasn't that bad, stadium has a roof you know (not a very good one I admit).

I was neither cold nor wet on Wednesday night? Have been at games in much worse conditions than that, and Phoenix games I mean, not games back home where you feel like your toes will drop off with about 5 minutes of the game played!

So what's the excuses for today's fairly average crowd?

Beautiful day, days after an excellent 3-0 win, and days before the biggest match in NZ history...and still short of 7000?

Bizarre.

Yeah, very disappointing crowd. Was expecting up around 10k but under 7k is poor.
over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Looked like much more than 6k to me.

But in all honesty if an NPC semi final last week can only draw 9 thousand then 6 thousand is seemingly around where we should be sitting. People just aren't going to live sport

Yes i agree! crowds have been disappointing to rugby and football. But to be fair. Its a recession year and times are tough. ppl are just getting back on there feet and with xmas approaching I think there saving all they can for the jingle season.

It was 900 more than 6000

Yeah I was at that semi final last week, couldn't believe the crowd considering it was a semi final to be honest. Didn't even feel like a semi final, no spectacle at all.

Steve, you don't get it. People are hurting and if you have to cut back on something, football would be the obvious-- you can watch it on TV

35,000 obviously aren't hurting that much next week!

I think this recession excuse is slightly overused. If you've lost your job or something, fair enough, but everyone I know has the exact same circumstances that they were in this time last year? I honestly don't know a single person who has been affected? I'm sure there are people who have, but if the problem was as widespread as being claimed then you'd think I'd know someone who'd lost their job or something?

Don't know why football would be the obvious either? Personally I'd cut back on drinking first!

We thought there was at least 8k there today. Perhaps the Rugby Union were doing their attendance thing for football crowds now.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Thats just it though steve-o "personally". Going to football/rugby is a bit of a luxury for most. People arent even going to rugby which theyve been attending for YEARS yet alone going to the fairly new phoenix. You might be a passionate fan who would cut other things first, but id say for a majority, the nix would be the first, followed by rugby perhaps, then drinking for example.

I swear the crowd looked like more than 6900 to me. I was thinking it was more full than other 6-7k games ive seen.
