Des is back in the country right ?. Wonder if he'd be willing to take over
Losing Vidosic seems even stupider now. He was the one guy who would've been able to assist us in getting better quality Aussie players. (i.e. a Spiranovic)
Yes but as he was behaving like a grade A fudgewit keeping him wasn't viable so can we just skip that sort of speculation? There is a reason Rado has only had about 8 games coaching in this league and it's the same reason he hasn't walked into another gig.
He's poison.
Wasn’t the reason Vidosic left was because of his falling out with the head coach? Now he’s gone, would he come back.
Well, what a fudgeing waste of a year this has been....I was willing to give him the chance next season but based on this event and his history, I'm presuming that he doesn't have the testicular fortitude to work really hard on making a team successful. Too hard - so does an Ernie and fudges off. Too easy to blame the club for not supporting him, too easy to blame the players for not being good enough but at the end of the day - no coach comes into a club and finds all of the players are exactly the type he wants, so the coach needs to cut their cloth to suit and get results despite this. He doesn't look like he is that type of guy. I'm fudgeed off with him for not being good enough to get anything out of the team, I'm fudgeed off with the club for signing him in the first place and I'm just generally fudgeed off because there is the strong prospect the club is going to get this all wrong again.
Just as a note, Ramon doesn't have a pro-licence. He needs one to come into the Nix. A-League rule. So any speculation around him is moot until he gets that
No the club can apply for a dispensation until he gets it
also he is due to get it in May which means he would have it in time for next season
but despite that don't think he will be the next Nix coach

This is the worst possible outcome. He either needed to stay for next season and have an off season to get the team playing the way he wants, or we should have sacked him in January, found a new coach to come in for the end of the season, and then have the whole offseason in front of him. Now we will have a coach who has to take managements advice on who to keep coming off contract, and we will have a rinse and repeat of this season.
It will be a two and a half season waste.

Or, to play Devil's Advocate, he identified major changes that needed to be made in order for him to do his job to the best of his ability (although I question his ability) and the Club were unwilling to make those changes, leaving him in an untenable position?
Either way, it's symbolic of the shambes which the Club now is. Sadly.
Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

He won't. Unless there is a good bridge builder on the Nix staff somewhere.

Yeah what about that? I think my kid coach has a pro licence, this may say not a lot, but if it's the rule...Ramon should have one. I hope the club aims higher.
Id be quite happy for the Nix to look at someone like Rudan. His analysis of the game is good, good knowledge of the Australian football scene and maybe could persuade some good aussie players to cross the ditch

I would hire a younger German or Spanish coach, they have plenty of UEFA qualified coaches and they play the best football:
UEFA data shows that England has 1,395 coaches holding Uefa’s A and Pro qualification badges compared to Germany’s 6,934, Italy’s 2,281, France’s 3,308 and Spain’s whopping 15,423.
I could see this coming hence my earlier post that we need a new Coach - and NOW. One with A-League experience. I don't think European or other Coaches truly understand the Travel factor, or the salary cap implications- you simply can't buy your way out of trouble. With HUGE time restraints (like we need the new Coach yesterday and not dithering around pre-season) IMO the choice is very limited. - Popa (well one can but try)
- Bring back Buck
- Green Eggs and Ham
- Humble Pie to the Vidosics
Or an existing A-League Assistant Coach somewhere (good). With good contacts.
Absolutely no chance re: Spira.
Released 26/2?, Popovic is now being mentioned for here as well?
so here's my take on it - for what it's worth.
All along the coach has said that this team does not have what it takes to win the league - certain players are not up to it and natural selection will take place come the end of the season. My bet is that DK has presented to the management with his plans to change the squad dramatically and may have even requested more funds to do it and has probably met with strong resistance from the board. Agreement cannot be reached hence he leaves.
Question - why hire an agent of change if you aren't willing to change? This, as I've said all along, is basically going to repeat what we did this season, re-sign a whole bunch of players before we get the coach so we actually have a squad come next season.

I think you're right.
However, I do think the board have shown they are willing to change and have backed their 'agent for change' to the hilt and have been disappointed with the results.
I think they want to change and they have realised that he is not the man to do it

I'm not sure what's harder to learn: years of experience in coaching or learning the implications of traveling? Some top european clubs play 2 games a week, I know they rotate players, but they still have core team playing and then they play for the National team.
All the 'travel' is just another excuse, there is no reason why a Phoenix team can't reach a similar fitness level than those teams, except the coaching management staff or the players don't know how to do it.
Or what is Sir Alex Ferguson up to these days?

Can we have the Vidosics back now please?

I've heard Darije is being told today that his services aren't required next season and that he is free to leave now. Interesting 180 from sacking Rado only a couple months ago.
Told yas
Unfortunately my source moves job at the end of next week, so will be shark out of luck finding out when the next coach is going to be fired
Valley FC til I die?
why is there a problem between ramon and the nix?as for vidosic why has he never coached regularly as a head coach in the aleague if he is so wonderful?

Your source is Darije?
Ramon is currently working towards his pro liscence, so come next season should have it... he clearly is the best pick in NZ currently.
I also like Neil Emblem.
This needed to happen (sooner would have been better). Whilst I think he had fair points and ideas, he didn't have the team behind him and without it, all the talk in the world wasn't going to make a difference.
What I would give for a top 4 season!
Club Announcement News Flash Translation -
You’ve wasted time, money and effort watching us this season, so no need to come back until next year, where we will probably fail due diligence again with our next coaching appointment.
So after 10 years of keeping the faith I've had a gutsful.
“ I know a song, won’t take long…. Phoenix are rubbish, Until they learn the song goes on, Phoenix are rubbish, Until he’s gone, Domey has gone, Phoenix are rubbish, So that’s my song, and now I’m gone, Phoenix are rubbish.”
Sadness .....
I'm happy to admit that I've been wrong with just about every call I've made about the coaching this season.
Apart from my very first call after game 7 when I said that Darije was on his way out. Should have stuck with that one.

Spiranovic is simply not that great any more, so we may have a chance, but only if Kalezic leaves now and Vidmar comes in
Ramon won't be the next Nix coach

How about I play Devil's advocate here then seeing as I see the media darlings have already saddled the horses to the front of the same "sign Ramon" and "Tribulietx In" bandwagons they only put away a couple of days ago after the All Whites gig was announced.
Let's be brutally honest. Ramon's experience is coaching a semi-professional team in a glorified social grade level of football. He has a significant level of backing for an amateur team and has built an excellent record on that but it's still amateur football. It's not dealing with full time players and the full raft of what is needed for a full time job.
There is a significant difference between getting a side up for a week long tournament in the WCC vs a 10 month of the year full time competition including recruitment, physical conditioning, mental conditioning, running a reserve team and a myriad of other things that he requires little experience of in his current role.
I'd feel a lot happier if he had spent some time, any time working within a professional environment. If he'd put his hand up for an assistant gig somewhere, played at one or at any point spent a long period of time where he has an understanding of football at that level I'd be more inclined to be on the bangbus.
The next question is, does he want the gig? Are people screaming for him to be appointed having not even checked if he wants it? He's on a pretty good deal at City and let's be honest has not gone out of his way to move on from his comfort zone there.
I think he MAY be able to do the job but it would be a massive gamble from a club that is already perceived to be a complete mess by everyone who deals with them. If that gamble didn't play off can you imagine the whining on here just based on what we see here even when we win a game?

I really like the idea of Ramon, but the idea differs from reality and you're 100% correct in what you say
