I've been vocal against Greenie all year. I based that on how the FSE was going but then someone here pointed out that was largely Goulds domain. Not sure where I stand on this.
I really enjoy his interviews. He is a breathe of fresh air in today's sound bite copy and paste reporting.
el Grap said that the FSE was Goulds gig but the club did say at the beginning of the season that the FSE was one of Greenies responsibilities. The two games I saw live Greenie was there and he appeared to be calling most of the shots. The bottom line is the FSE team were a rabble. Also Greenie supposedly had a big coaching imput to the attacking side of the Nix.....the record shows that we failed largely in this area too.
For all Greenacres enthusiasm and good interviews there is no way he is anywhere near the level to be a Head A-League coach. Sure since Ricki's departure there has been a change. But much of this is the usual bounce you get after a coach goes. Also, even though Greenie would have some imput into the change of fortunes of the team much of their resurgence is due to player power IMO. Domey supported this when he said the senior guys had rallied around and made a big push for more effort from the team. I suspect Iffil, Dura and co have played a big hand in this.
Greenie needs to go away and get some mileage, coaching in all situations for a variety of clubs. If he has success in this then sure we might welcome him back one day as head coach.
