Was loaned to us because he was a class player who might reasonably attract a transfer fee for his parent club, but playing for us was potentially a better shop window for him than playing there. Also because Tim Payne had hammy issues and Chiefy thought he might help us get over the line to win the premiership. It also represented a salary increase for the player himself at the time. But there was no genuine expectation that he would stay with us long term because we were never going to pay the transfer fee the loan was ultimately trying to make happen.
I am surprised he is still getting loaned out, must have been on a very long contract at the time or have extended since. Not interested enough to google to find out what that deal is. But he will be quality for Brisbane, no doubt.

If you get done for a small drug offence youll likely get barred from many countries, I'm not getting a lesser sentence because I might want to travel. why should this guy?

Robertson feels out of nowhere. Couldn't get a sniff when he was playing fairly well in the championship in admittedly an awful side, but then gets a proper call up when he's not played all season in league one (injured for most of that, but has been available for selection for a couple weeks).
I think there have been ongoing questions to whether Roberston was commited to the Socceroos or not. From the very short clips I've seen of him, he looks a very skilled midfielder.

From what I saw in Canberra (I missed the other game), the Socceroos were very lucky against us and we looked the better team for most of the match.
