Football United - July 2014 West Ham and Newcastle visit

That's actually a genius move from the Nix's perspective. I guess they will wait and see how ticket sales go, and if the matches sell out close enough to the time that tickets went on sale, then they can let Sky Sports screen the games. If not, then make Sky show the matches on Sky Arena, and attempt to sell more tickets and gain some revenue from the sale of the matches on TV.

I actually believe this is the biggest problem with fan support in NZ ... everything is live on TV...I am definitely in favour of blackouts in the region hosting the game ... I am sure if done right and delaying the replays long enough more people would get along....NZ is one of the few countries that do this if you look at sport in the states it is blacked out in the area.  even on internet i.e. Baseballs MLBTV checks your area you are connecting from before allowing you to watch.

Blackout in the region I'm in favour of, not PPV across the board though. I want to watch the Auck / Dunedin games but the thought of paying another $40 to do so is frankly laughable.

$20 for all 4 games together might be a goer?

I'm quite confused. I just paid for a new membership and it seems I can now buy Wellington Football United tour tickets on ticketek. I thought I couldn't do that until the 14th. Anyone know the answer?

Have Sky released a price or any statement yet. They are paying for the rights and on selling. Fair play.

But i'm not a renewing member, I'm simply a new member. Can I still buy tickets now, or will they be cancelled if I do?

You can only add them to your order - your seats wont be allocated and your payment wont be processed until the new members period opens.

I just want to correct you here, before others get the wrong idea. It's a total of four tickets you can purchase for Wellington, which includes your own ticket. Not four tickets on top of your own ticket.

Cheers Patrick - I might have got it wrong, but I was sure I asked how many extra tickets we could purchase and he said four
Maybe that's only for Foundation members who get given a free ticket.

I expect this is why the game times aren't finalised. If Aus tv money > NZ tv money we could be playing the curtain raiser

I think the details I have seen means it looks like they've done a great job, I think all 3 games will get really big crowds.

I am much more unsure about whether this will provide any benefit to the club (other than the short term cash boost if they make a profit and they choose to reinvest that into the club rather than take it out to repay the investors for some of the cash they have sunk in over the past couple of years).  Do these one off games really attract new fans and sponsors?

It does contrast with how they're running the on pitch stuff.  Commercially/administratively we're really ambitious under Welnix but this hasn't translated onto the pitch

Just organised 12 people flying up from Chch to the double header. Come up the last two WC qualifiers but why not.

With all the drama you guys are having with tickets, how do I get 12? It's only pre-sales at the moment right?

Is say yes to that.
Something needed to be done in the off season to lift the brand otherwise it would have been very flat going into next season. This has got people buzzing about live football. They are leveraging the membership  off it too.

It is interesting to me that spending the time, effort and $ on bringing good football to NZ for a week has had such a lot of interest and support. Why then do they not apply the same and spend the $ on a team that can give us decent football every week instead of building a stadium?

Hi, yes it does give you the option to select your comp ticket. Your best bet is to ring Brenda the legend at Ticketek on 04 385 2457 and she'll sort it for you.

Probably some dynamic, adaptive, enabling quality that allows the company to strategise the big picture going forward in this space 24/7.
Either that or client focusssssssed.

Marquee player: 1-2 years, probably rubbish.
Stadium: basically forever, will equate to more money available for the squad, will make for a better atmosphere.
I'll take the stadium thanks.

If they were serious about the stadium they would have ensured it wasn't the PR clusterfuck it's become.

Forgive me if this has already been asked...I brought a new membership and added 4 United tickets to the order - as I was asked to and allowed to on the website and my credit card details were taken. Are we now saying that I didn't actually buy these 4 tickets and that I can't because I am not a renewing member? i have a confirmation email from ticketek saying I've purchased them.
