Nope, you'd think vip entrance and discounted parking would be included in gold membership at least
Think discount parking should be for all those who have paid for a full season pass. Just find this sort of petty stuff really frustrating from the Phoenix. On one hand they do some really good stuff then they do something like this and you just shake your head and say why.

Petty.
Particularly as no doubt someone will PM me the password! Ideally, before the weekend.

Can you be more specific what im looking for.(forget it a bit thick this morning)LOL

sure, everything should be free, but we don't understand the costs so it's hard to really have an educated opinion.

For what it's worth, if you don't mind a short walk then coupon parking in Thorndon and around the botanic gardens is free. I've never actually paid for parking at the stadium.

It would be worth asking the club why the change.

Dont expect everything to be free and have NEVER suggested it should be. Have you taken a  drive down Thorndon Quay recently not sure where you think the parks are,as for the Botanical Gardens the whole reason some of us park at the stadium is due to mobility issues so up there will be no help at all.
All that has been asked for all along is to be treated the same as those who attend NPC games at the stadium not sure that should be that hard to achieve.

the thorndon quay parks are two hour limited. it's more parking up around parliament and near the new world.

Maybe the rugby gets a better deal?

Best thing is to ask the club or get the pod to ask the question next time they have Dome on.

One of those things that has been broached before sadly with little affect or seemingly interest to speak up on behalf of Phoenix fans. Is going to brought up again.
Just think its very disappointing as a long term tenant Phoenix fans arnt treated   the same as NPC fans.

Anybody actually received their members packs yet?

I've got a couple of new season members on my acct, wondering. I've assured them the Nix are just useless at this and I can sort their electronic tickets.  But it is amusing seeing new people actually having reasonable expectations of paying for a membership and receiving one before the first game.

It will likely turn up now on Thursday/Friday but I wouldn't be surprised if it was next week. At least I have my digital pass and a number of shirts and YF scarves to choose from, for this Sunday.
I'm an optimistic pessimist.
I'm positive things will go wrong.

This is the one tradition that I really do not enjoy! We have the longest off season in the world! Members were expected to buy memberships very early, surely the club has their distributors sorted by now - it's not like they have to figure this out every season... it should not take that long to get some very simple members packs out before the first game.
We should have our packs a week before kick off - at the very worst!!!

Yep i jest more out of sheer frustration that its happened yet again. Like you hate it. I understand its a scarf issue what i dont get is why someone isnt all over the manufacturer ensuring things are as they should be. But then again if playing shirts turn out different to what your shown in a render  maybe checking is something that isnt done.

I dont know who's job it is at the club to manage all this. Maybe noone specifically in which case Dome is the man to answer why the delays occur every year and what is been done about it to avoid it happening next time? Sure it's impossible to avoid all delays and if a manufacturer has an issue then this can happen, but not every year for the last decade or more!!!

So today, I receive a digital season pass (.pdf), which "can be saved to your phone or printed".

Also, I get a link to download my card to Google Wallet, should I wish to do so.
Turns out both passes are for the WOMENS season, although this is not mentioned in the email.

Still, its a bit confusing - the .pdf says I wont be getting a physical pass, and then not very helpfully says "you must print this card, you cannot scan this on your mobile ". For the life of me, I cant see why not, the card is just a QR code.

I can only assume we are getting a physical card for the MEN, which Im still waiting for

I got the same two PDFs for the womens game and no where in the email did it say which team! Then I did a little freak out when it said a physical card wouldn't be sent.

Got the same email and down the bottom where it says "The Membership card is assigned to ****** click her to download"
I did that and it downloaded it to my wallet so its all there nice and simple.
In saying that has taken me ages to work out due to the mixed messaging.

In regards to the Car Parking, face it, the Stadium Trust are just a bunch of greedy cnuts ringing as much as they can out of the Phoenix. They've for years done it, yet they let Rugby off cheaply (Including stadium rent rates).

Even when the Lions moved to Porirua Park because they couldn't afford to rent the place, The Stadium Trust continued to wrought everyone. Imagine what they are charging the Nix, if the rugby couldn't afford it.

All those car parks sit empty unless it's an All Blacks V South Africa/England test match. The whole lot should be a blanket $20. (Is still $10 at North Harbour & Forsythe Barr?) $24, $35 - It's all just a con!

Always has been always will be. It doesnt make sense really, to charge the small crowds of NPC car parking of $15-20 and the Nix crowds $25-30. I'd guess they charge the same game day fee to the clubs, but I'd expect NZR would be footing the bill for the NPC games.
It's really unfortunate that there is no big presence in NZ backing the NIX (like NZR). NZF is there but offers no buying power or negotiating ability to the Nix at all.

How much do season ticket holders usually add because 3.2k two days out feels concerningly low after the season we just had?

lets just say that its 2k for now, but there is also Maccas Junior Nix which is the initiative where junior footballers under 16 can sign up for a free membership too, which had 2.5k registrations last season and will be somewhere close this year too. I'd say 3k pax isn't too bad for today considering the absolute lack of promotion but we can easily do better.

Wonder if it's a bit of burnout from last season? More people went to more games so they're content to sit back until they get a feeling for where the team sits this year? After all, we've lost a lot of good players yet again, it's a new team really that's got to prove itself first. Just a thought. But yea would be nice to know why the club doesn't promote at least the start of the season. Probably hoping the media will do it for them with AFC joining

Possibly,
but also remember there's been a ton of job losses in through the Public sector which has impacted wellington massively. There will be a large number of casual attendees who will not be coming to games as they aint got the money to do so.

Plus, as far as the marketing goes, Domey's answer will be something along the lines of "We've tried it years ago and it made no difference to attendances".
And, to be fair to the club, they used to have flags, bus advertising etc and it didnt increase attendances.

Fully understand there not being much marketing remember the club is operating this year on seriously reduced funding so things probably have to be cut back more than they want to. As the prof said they have tried all sorts of stuff before with little success so why go that way again. Would also expect you will see a big step up in the lead up to the Derby game.

The long off-season doesn't help either. It pretty much makes the buzz from last season a distant memory for most of the casuals - essentially the team has to start performing again to build it back up.

Do they do many meet ups at junior level matches these days? I remember when I was a junior and we had Roly Bonevacia turn up and join in on some of the Grade 8 matches. Gotta keep that going to drive interest during the offseason.

They’re doing community outreach at schools and clubs pretty much every week. Lily Alfeld is in charge of it and brings a lot of the younger mens and womens players along.

Yes the outreach is certainly good, but the next question is how many students would go home and say "omg lets go to a nix game". Would be nice if the parents could get involved with them too as they're the ones the children depend on to get to the game

Hard to quantify, but 2-3k kids registered to Wellington football clubs have free memberships through the Junior Nix programme.

You’d hope that a good chunk of them would come to the games and bring one or two paying adults with them.

I’m gutted that silver season ticket holders don’t get a discount for parking now. Travel from feilding every game and parking at the stadium is a lot easier for me
