Hutt City Council are very much keen to make it a family day. They have already blown our original plans out of the water. So yeah, probably would be a sensible idea to not get your sway on prior to entry. But that's not really how Fever rolls so I'm not too worried.

Well put Smithy.

If the Phoenix want to throw the entire Yellow Fever out for drinking alcohol, then good luck to them. That'll go down well.

Is this the significant demographic of the season ticket holders (which will comprise up to 4k of the the crowd)?  Or is this what the overall sales are showing?

No problems if this is the case but we've tried bouncy castles and face painting before and it wasn't exactly a draw card.

Majority are and the fact is those who are generally loud are the ones who enjoy a pint

Just like to thank the Phoenix staff member who processed my request for extra tickets today. Very efficient. Very impressed.

If anyone needs more I'd advise they get in quick as they are going pretty quickly.

With tickets in short supply , I shan't be taking the kids, so Im not too concerned about Nixie the Chicken or bouncy castle. I was given an adult Hutt ticket for my childs season pass in anycase, so it will be adults coming to the three games for me, not kids.

We'll be putting buses on from town. Details to be confirmed. The idea being you can meet for a pint in town, then catch the bus out to the Bellvue and have another pint (or five) with us pre game.

Keen on this. Great idea

And not everyone who gets trolleyed stands in the zone....we are however the best happy, clappy, occasionally in tune, most often not, set of urchins and ne'er do wells you could ever wish to meet!

The last 'family day' I went to was Christmas, and Granny had at least 5 drinks, guess we should have kicked her out.

Fixed. Do you think the Phoenix folk are that stupid? It would be the council or some new ground security that would try it....

Seriously though, if they start turfing us out for a level of drunkenness that'll be standard at the Stadium on gameday then it'll be ridiculous.

If you are intoxicated (properly inebriated) then they have every right to refuse entry or remove you from the grounds. Two or three or four before the game should be fine, just don't look drunk.

Yeah reckon they're worried about 'pre-loading' but think you sum it up well.

What about if you're mashed, smashed or generally off your face?

There is a difference between being drunk and having fun and being drunk and a complete Twit. I recommend being the former and not the latter. However, have cell phone cameras at the ready in case some get stupid on both sides. I think for the most part, drunk Nix fans are no where near as bad as fans of another code.

They have a lovely garden bar at the Belle Vue so you can sit in the sun and enjoy a few quiet ones then cross the road to cheer on the NIx.

Wellington Phoenix ‏@WgtnPhoenixFC Less than 3000 tickets left for the first game at B.Foot Kia Hutt Rec http://goo.gl/Mfn3ad . #BFKiaHuttRec

That sounds a lot to me.

I'd say season ticket holders have taken their allocation and the rest will wait until the week (or even day unfortunately) before committing to buying. As usual.

Jokes on them - they'll be needing to pay gold prices to get in as silver are pretty much all snapped up.

So there will be limited gate sales on the day for any remaining tickets?

And while we're here, what is the actual capacity? I've seen so many various numbers from different news sources. Initially I read 6000, then 8,500, and then 10,000 ???

edit: probably this:

With only 9,000 seat capacity and the Phoenix soaring high in second place in the Hyundai A-League, the Phoenix are putting out the message to buy early as it will sell out.

“We had 10,000+ at Westpac Stadium on Sunday; Brendan Foot Kia Hutt Rec will have 1,000 seats less than that" said Wellington Phoenix General Manager David Dome.

Permalink Permalink

suspect it may be less than that now. All the more reason for people to purchase their tickets before the day.

I thought it was 9,000 from the releases, but have had numerous people argue 12,000 with me, I have just given up :D

I read before on the Kia website that its 15,000 .... arf!

Permalink Permalink

according to the Hutt news article I just read its 9000 with 6500 sold

And Rob Morrison has been quoted (before Christmas) in the Dom Post saying it was 7,500.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
