Corey Gamiero hates it when people spell his name Cory too, which lead to us singing "C-O-R-E-Y, C-O-R-E-Y, C-O-R-E-Y, Gamiero was his name-o" at the match on Sunday.
How does he pronounce Gamiero? Dewhurst gives it the gammy-air-ro.
Actually would like to know this too. Gammy-Air-Ro was what I heard too, but that just doesn't sound right.
I had been pronouncing it "Ga-Mare-O" - No idea how it is pronounced, but Dewhurst's just sounded wrong
The man himself tweeted...
@wellywolf hey mate its gam-ear-oh ....say it like that and its pronounced right #gameiro

Still annoys me that he gets Huysegems name wrong.
Gam-ear-o fit's into my Bingo chant perfectly. I would never trust Andrew 'Rock-arse' Dewhurst with pronounciation.

Spelling of peoples names and pronunciation is very important. Personally I think it's disrespectful not to get it right.
Especially as a commentator, I understand some trouble when you have a foreign team come to town, but not for your own local teams players, and if you know you have a foreign team coming then do some research, don't just wing it.
With Durante, I think he approves Duran-tea.
Is Duran-tay incorrect?

Recordefd V50 this morning with David Dome. Will probably be out tomorrow night.
In The Zone V50 is live at www.yellowfever.podomatic.com & Itunes bit.ly/YFZone.
This week the pod raise their collective bat as they celebrate 50 episodes by grilling Wellington Phoenix FC?'s General Manager David Dome on all things Phoenix, including Ricki’s replacement, the Football School of Excellence, and media hacks. Elsewhere Chris Greenacre chalks up his first win as Melbourne Heart FC?’s away from continues, but what are our chances against the rampant Western Sydney Wanderers FC? FFA outfit. In New Zealand football news, Herbert names Andrew Durante in his All Whites? squad for the upcoming world cup qualifiers, Nelsen makes a losing start to him MLS coaching career, the ASB Premiership? is heading towards an all Auckland contest, and four team vie for a place in the ASB Youth league final.
Interesting poddy. Dave Dome seems like a decent bloke. Well done, keep it up.
Congrats on the half century. Will the podcast continue in the off season?

Only listened to the first half of this but this is great stuff - would be great if Veitch got this side of the story and that was what went out on the air rather than Gareth's randomness
I bet a lot of fans would feel a lot better after listening to this, I certainly feel a lot more reassured!
Normo's coming home
Great to have Domey on. Should get more guests like this that can gives the fans the truth to some of the stories plastered in the media and it was interesting re: the coaches.

Top Pod...well done guys!
Nothing like a bit of communication to clear the air. Well done Domey too for being straight up. We could do with more of this sort of interaction.
Liked the Coach discussion. "all the usual applicants" had applied. I guess that includes Trani....and who else? Miron, Kossie, Merrick??
So the time line is...ad goes out for two weeks, then a week to review and make a short list, interviews...which could take a while if travel is involved and then a decision. Probably take a month all up.....so we should know by early.mid April. New coach could be on deck by May...which means a bit tight for players coming off A-League contracts.

sorry, dumbarse here. I know there is a partnership between the nix and tw, but why does the Wellington Phoenix board get a say in who coaches Team Wellington?
It's not Phoenix Board, but a committee with both Phoenix and Team Wellington representation on it.
I hope El Grap and 2ndBest don't become referees - there would be no one left on the pitch!
