LA Galaxy Ticket Update

"Of the tickets we have sold, 7000 have been for the two-match package - the league game against Adelaide United on Friday night and the Galaxy game on Sunday afternoon."
(Yellowfever.co.nz homepage)

Thought the Galaxy game was on saturday at around 7pm? is this just a typo?

Now I'm finally intending to go - I'm back in the usual position of paying for tickets I haven't seen. Probably arrive the night before on past form.

Can i ask a question that may have been raised before.

What happens if Beckham is injured and cant play 52 mins or any minutes at all.

What if he aint even coming?

I know the Wellington Phoenix will get some sort of refund from their million dollar invoice.

But I am pretty sure the 30,000 at westpac stadium will end up paying the same money to see a average MLS team play against a tired and reshuffled phoenix team.

I would still pay to see that game. But just wondered what others thouhgt?

If we build it, they will come...

Originally scheduled for Sunday, but a master stroke of second thinking, they didn't leave a day gap between games.  4 the fever site, I'm sure they get it vhanged at 9:30 when they get to work.

Hard Phoenix luck lads, playing two days in a row. I've seen the Galaxy lately though, there pretty unfit, we'll be sweet, and I think they're playing a second rate Sydney team on the way anyways.

Hey LondonChris, you know my Gran, LondonJo?
Game will be postponed if Becks canny make it. Tony P said so.

What if he gets sent off after 50 mintues after Chooper Dodd takes him down and he kicks out while face down on the ground?
Re-match maybe?

any news we put on comes from the Nix or a reputable newspaper - so who ever said it was gonna be on Sunday had a shocker (not sure what article you are talking about so not sure of source)

Indeed.  Many galaxy tickets state 'Both' on them as well and I have run in to people that assumed that meant the ticket covered both games.

If you don't have two seperate tickets you only have the Galaxy game.

I hope not..I asked for both games and my ticket says both..I read somewhere earlier (Tony P post?) that booths will be put up closer to the game around town to get the second ticket...I relied on that as the means to get my second ticket.

like you I purchased tickets that have "both" on them for friends and told them they have tickets to both games.....I've just got off the phone from a lovely friendly lady at ticketek telling me that no the other tickets were not given to me (she could view this from our account)

so I'm off to give the Porirua Holiday Shoppe man a bollocking!!
idiot!

I'd advise you to go in with your tickets asap and sort it out boro4eva

What a  @##^&&**(*( shambles...just got back from the Ticketek agency...despite having asked for both and getting tickets to the galaxy match with "both" on it I clearly did not have those seats/tickets for the linked Phoenix match.  So Galaxy is aisle 23 and best available seating for Phoenix is aisle 15 which are worst seats.....but that is all I could get dammit.  Not happy......very sloppy.

Although not related to tickets- just watch Galaxy play New York Red Bulls. 1-1 draw, still have a chance of making playoffs if they beat Chicago (I think?) next weekend. Becks came on for the last last 20 or so, and looked to be moving pretty freely which is good to see. So for any of you looking at going esp to see Becks it looks like his fitness is much better.

Hmmm, sounds like the ticket masters are well lacking. Then again my mates in Welly are so useless they couldent even be bothered going down to pick them up, so I purchased ova the net, really hope I dun have to experience tha crap you guys have been going through.
In saying, still havnt received mine yet

The Galaxy game might be a bit average and end in a 5-5 draw courtesy of two Beckham free kicks at each end, and an own goal by Posh Spice, but won't it be great to see a match with a packed stadium.....

Really interested to hear this news from you Bigtobz. The following article appeared in the NZ Herald today

Quote
"David Beckham aggravated his injured left ankle on Wednesday, the first time the England soccer midfielder has trained on consecutive days since October 2.

As a result, he might miss the Los Angeles Galaxy's final home game against the New York Red Bulls. The Galaxy must beat or draw with New York to stay in contention for the Major League Soccer playoffs.

Los Angeles are four points behind Chicago and Kansas City who share the eighth and final playoff berth.

Beckham has played 308 minutes while starting four of six games in his abbreviated debut season. He has one goal and two assist"

To me the above article carries a negative vibe, almost a spoiler for anyone thinking about still getting tickets or who has tickets for the NZ game - dont bother , he may be injured!

So to hear from you that he recovered quickly enough to play, and was travelling well, that is great news for our chances here..

Wonder if the Herald will do an update on this?

I also saw a little of that game and Becks looked in good shape.  Just as well because my Galaxy tickets turned up today (10 days after buying over the net).  The tickets to Adelaide also arrived but I'm in aisle 33 which is pretty poor.  Guess we'll see how full the stadium is and if possible move round to better seats.  As I've almost talked my wife into coming to the Adelaide match I don't want to blow it with poor seats.  Now for the babysitting...

Would be surprised- no paper ever wants to market the good news! Yeah they showed footage of him at training, rolled his ankle slightly then got up and slide tackled someone. Really just making news for news sake I guess! Typical yanks and their Beckham infatuation...

Becks got a bit pissed off at the ref too, shows there's still some passion in the old billionaire...

Yeah- but probably a first- he actually got pissed off at the ref for awarding him a free kick- wanted the advantage to be played! Must say his vision in his passing is as class as ever.

Didn't see enough of the game to make a full assessment ("Beauty and the Beast" was a higher priority for the TV apparently!) but the Galaxy looked pretty comfortable with the ball and I think will be the favourites for the match.

" The England midfielder came off the bench eight minutes after the hour mark to make his first appearance for the Galaxy since injuring his knee in the SuperLiga final at the end of August.

He played several trademark long balls as Los Angeles sought a winner, but they were forced to settle for a point, ending their five-game winning streak but extending their unbeaten run to seven."

Ends their 5 game winning streak they had without him!! Typical!!

apparently in the gold zone if the home side scores you ask one of the stewards to clap on your behalf.

OI!! We are in the gold zone. Over in aisle 27!!  We're like missionaries spreading the faith. Might be a bit quieter but most of the folk about us just need a bit of encouraging and then they're on to it. Usually the kids stare, at me and Bill, to start with. Then we go "come on"...  once they join in then the parents usually do. Against Adelaide once we got the teenagers in front of us into it (took a bit) things just took off....
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Haha im up for spreading a bit of faith!!!! And for giving Becks a bit of stick. During my stay in england went to Sheffield Utd vs Portsmouth in Sheffield and were in the quiet end. Me and my mates (all NZers) got the fat poms fired up a bit. I'll be there with some of the lads from my footy club up here and we'll be right into it. Come on the Nix!!!!!!!!

Hey guys,
I got my tickets last week, but I may have inadvertently got the tickets that only let me go to the Galaxy game, and not the Adelaide game the night before.

I am fuming! I had no idea you could even get tickets that didn't let you into the Adelaide game; why on earth is there the option of getting tickets that are the same price but worse? I'm not even sure I did that, but the system says otherwise.

Now Ticketek are spouting their "no refunds, no exchanges" line, even when I calmly explain I don't want a refund or an exchange, I want a second set of tickets of the same monetary value that I thought I was purchasing in the first place, for an event that is not sold-out in any way and is over a month in advance.

Does anyone have any ideas of who I might be able to contact in getting this resolved? Is there anyone at Wellington Phoenix who might be able to help?

Cheers guys!
