Some resonable results for us, our next win could still throw us in to 5th

I have worked out, if we win all of our 3 remaining home games and get one draw away (sydney) and with results going roughly by the standings final standings would be:

5th Wellington Phoenix 39 points
6th Melbourne Victory 38 points
7th Newcastle Jets 37 points
8th Melbourne Heart     35 points

Need a decent home performance and a bit of luck :)

A Newcastle draw or loss tonight would do nicely.

Even better considering the For and Against.

Looking good - Game in hand against MH who have a pretty hard several games like the Jets. MV is a bit ahead but their form has been horrid as of late so thats another positive :)

We play two teams from the top 4. As do Victory and Jets. Heart play 3 teams from the top 4.

We have 3 home games. As do Victory.  Heart have 4 home games and Jets just 2.

We play the fury.  As do Victory.  Heart and Jets don't.

lady luck weekend has dealt us a kind league table

if brisbane was flood-less and we got a hiding, and heart, victory and jets all won it could be sooooo different

Lets take advantage now. 3pts vs glory, a lucky point midweek at roar, then back here for the king daddy of season-definers against the Jets

Huge time lads, huge

get your game face on

Hearts are not going to make it....they could easily lose 4 of their last five...GC, Victory, Roar, CCM
and Sydney

Jets are away to GC, Nix, Victory and CCM.....tough run for them as well plus they look out of form

The Victory will make top 6...they have 33 points plus home games against Heart and the Jets and away to Fury which are all winable.

Our destiny is in our hands....three winable home games might be enough....a point against Sydney away would be great.

Results have gone our way majorly of late.  Very relieved about that.  We absolutely must win those games at home.

We have to aim for fourth.  Victory are catchable.  Horrible form they've been in.  They've got a hatful of players out.  Allsopp missed an open goal the other week.

If there's no Wehrman the Jets are done I think. Has anyone heard how long he is out for? I think if its any longer than one game the Jets season is over, they don't really look up to it without Ljubo, Wehrman or Abbas.

I think GCU is about to hit some real form which will be good for us this week.
Victory still don't look any good, hopefully it stays that way but you expect them to fire up for a derby.
The Heart have looked good but their schedule is probably to hard for them..
So we should end up in the top 6... Finger crossed.

Have confidence and our Phoenix will win at least 4 out of the reamaining 6 games!! Get your wallets ready for playoff games!

I've said this many times. When were are good we are great, when we are bad we are shocking.
I don't know why there are so many people who have given us no chance against Roar or Adelaide.
If we play to our potential for 90m, then there is no problem.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Not wishing to re-ignite the Dom Post chestnut (on this thread), but comments in above posts include "Good weekend for results", "Lady luck has dealt us a kind league table" & "results have gone our way".

And yes, we are probably better placed after the weekend than before.

So what is the (mini) headline in this morning's Dom Post?

"Melbourne teams open up gap on Phoenix".

Well, yes, but not really. It's enough to send one on a diving expedition to Clive.

I know, I know, its serious!

Nice! This should become one of those meme things the university types are always talking about.

Anyway, I cannot get too excited about results going our way, of course it helps, but the ball is at our feet, so to speak, and it is up to us to get the results. COYN!

Jets are looking less and less likely, yet more injuries: http://au.fourfourtwo.com/News/193899,more-injury-woe-for-branko.aspx
And with this set off games mostly away they look like falling out of the 6.
I don't see the beating GCU, CCM, Us or MV. Sydney are looking on form too if and if key players aren't back it'll be stretch for them to beat them at home too.

Gold Coast United (A)
Wellington Phoenix FC (A)
Melbourne Victory FC (A)
Sydney FC (H)
Perth Glory FC (H)
Central Coast Mariners FC (A)
More good for us I guess.

Never thought I'd say this, but... all aboard the GCU bandwagon (for the next four days)

They are away at Heart tomorrow and host the Jets on Saturday.

Denying our finals' foes would do us a favour.
