Brisbane well deserved their win.

Melbourne have been playing average too, they're lucky they've managed more draws.

Can only hope our form picks up, even draws on the road are better than out-right losses.

It's encouraging. We haven't played anywhere near our expected level, yet we find ourselves in 6th. So it could be worse.

I agree, there is a lot of angst floating around considering we are mid-table

Well that depends depends if you expected us to continue the habit of winning at home and failing away :) which generally = mid of the table.

But I myself am not panicking, plenty of time left to scrape road points lol

it's interesting, given all the aingst about us not creating enough, we are near the top of the goals for

it's the goals against that are killing us

Not sure if it's been commented upon, but what do the top three have in common?

New managers!

Better away record? Less goals against? More points on the table than the Phoenix?

New coach isn't everything. Having a player like Leckie on fire is very helpful.

They actually know the art of defending.

Three for me, and two for them.

I don't like that 3 of the 4 teams in front of us have games in hand, at all.

True.....that may create a gap but on the plus side non of the teams below us have games in hand so maintaining 6th place is in our hands

We are in an OK position at this stage of the comp.

We just need to start putting in some convincing performances otherwise I will move to Super Dorkland, call myself Paul Thompson's brother and write a blog about how all the other teams have us sussed.

Or we could take a leaf out of Liverpool's book and replace Serepisos with a self-important property developer.

at this point in the season we are sitting where we deserve to be, awful on the road, solid at home, no inspiring campaign so far, but we need to get a better connection from our back 3 or4 to the midfield, and bertos needs to find form.
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

it's not the lack of worthiness that worries me

it's the sheer mind-numbing incompetence that we have to look forward to

No Piney this week, but NQF's win closes things up even more. Top 3 still with a big break...teams 4-8 separated by a point. Jest and Old Bling struggling as of now.

Fury did well to win in very heavy rain. They also did us a favour by holding back Perth, so we get some points tomorrow and we can try to move out of the logjam in the middle of the table.

Unlike us - we have been well below average for most of the season.

At this point in the season I feel second place is a realistic goal. Correct me if I'm wrong but there is really no difference between coming first or second?

Either way you get a home and away series to be the grand final host. With our home record, hosting the final has to be our goal.

On a side note, a two match home and away series would certainly be interesting for our team given the discrepancy between home and away performances. Wheras for other teams in the league it might be an unfair system (i.e if Melbourne play Melbourne twice at AAMI park I believe away goals will still count double)
