Perth with 2 games in hand, could make second spot their own with two wins. WSW with 1 game in hand could jump to 21.

Half an hour into WSW vs Adelaide game, and WSW is leading 3:2.  That sure is one crazy game.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

I'm still pissed we're not playing Sydney on Friday and we now have a 16 day break then play 3 games in quick succession, including 2 away games. It's a load of crap.

Let's get over it. The Wednesday game v Sydney is followed by an up-the-road Sunday match a few days later v Newcastle. It could be worse, ie, needing to travel to Perth or something between games. We've then got an actual bye week. Good chance perhaps to get some quality minutes into the likes of Waine, Sail and Sutton too.

In short, banish the excuses. If we're the real deal this year, then this schedule shouldn't be a problem, even if it may not be ideal.

You have obviously got no idea. Klopp would not have done it if he was playing a side in the same league. He happened to be playing a team two divisions below.

To be fair, Sydney arguably are in a different league to everyone else this year.

That extra away game to Perth may be key with this terrible lopsided draw unfortunately, as that game is basically an instant loss

Exactly, no point talking ourselves out of it now. The away game against Perth that Valeo is worried about will be their 3rd in 8 days. They're also playing 3 this coming week or so too. This type of schedule is very familiar to the likes of Taylor, Ball & Hooper too.

Yeah, sorry, I confused things here I think by mixing up responses to two different points. They both amount to there being no need for us to make a fuss though.

1. In the week we're now playing 3 games, we have Victory at home, followed by Sydney and Jets away. Hardly a terrifying travel schedule for most pro footballers.

2. In the week we play away to Perth, we'll have had 1 game 7 days earlier (preceded by a bye week). On the other hand, Perth will be onto their 3rd game in 8 days.

I know we like to make a fuss about how everything's against us. On this one, though, I think we're best to zip it and get on with it. It's really not that rough.

Agreed.  We have enough personnel to manage three games except for the left fullback backup where Libby is not easily replaceable. However, I would rather focus on having our strongest squad on the park for the Victory and the Jets games, where six points are more likely, and not trying to win the Sydney game at all cost with the risk of then coming up short in Newcastle.

I agree, and this is why changing the schedule and having 3 games in 3 days is so crap for us. On last nights showing by Sydney, we would give them a real good go with a full strength team. Would have been a great game win or lose. Now we are likely to rotate and rest players. Newcastle are no east beats either, they are playing good football at the moment.

Urrgh need that Unendorse button.

You are forgetting likely 4-5 players (Marinovic, Payne, Cacace, Rufer & McCowatt) having an extra game away with the AWs, plus about 40 hours stuck in a Jumbo - hopefully at the pointy end of the plane, NZF.

There will be some interesting discussions had between, Talay & Hay.
