7 goals in 11 appearances isn't to be sneezed at.

Yeah! Total career 132 games for 56 goals which is 0.42 goals per game.Which is fairly decent! Not sure what the standard is but the International goals/per game is fantastic.....unless he got 7 in one game agains the Faroe islands!!!!!!!!
Yeah, yeah looks GREAT!!! Except his curent club is in the third tier of Greek Football...

Ri?ardas Beniuis is absolutely piss - saw him v Hibs for Hearts once and the Hearts fans cheered VERY loudly when he was subbed.

Everbody's job is to scour wikipedia to find every Lithuanian in the country aged 28 who plays football.  I must know.

You can save yourself the bother by looking up the Heart of Midlothian squads over the past 4 years - I think every Lithuanian footballer has player for them at one time.

This thread, although serious, has had more and better smart remarks in it than I have seen on here for a while. All my fellow users are on "form" today.

Exactly, half the views on this site are attached to "speculation".  Couple of hundred thousand views to check out the rumours.  Must be off season.

I find the matching avatars f**king annoying - every now and again I think that News has said something sensible and intelligent before I have a closer look at the user name.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite

Guys I dont if this has been covered, but Todays Sydney Morning Herald says Wellington Phoenix are poised to sign Lithuanian striker Nerijus Astrauskas from Greek club Niki Volos fc.

sauce link here, at tail end of article

http://www.smh.com.au/news/sport/football/a-league/ffa-to-fight-16yearolds-case-before-fifa-in-bid-to-end-exodus-ofjuniors/2009/05/28/1243456683541.html

sorry link wouldn't work but tail end of article under that heading reads:

Sydney FC striker Kofi Danning remains ineligible for the world championships despite touring Europe with the under-20s as they prepare for the tournament. Ghana-born Danning is free to continue representing his adopted country in unofficial matches, but will not be able to play in Egypt unless the FFA is successful in its campaign to convince FIFA to make an exception to its new eligibility rules.

Wellington Phoenix are poised to sign Lithuanian striker Nerijus Astrauskas from Greek club Niki Volos FC.

I think Mike Cockerill has some good contacts in Nz football,he used to get a lot of the rumours right even back in the knights days.

Yep.
I guess the groundwork was done by the many observant people on this forum-plus a bit of inside info from "those in the know",
..if the writer didn't have inside info already. Any football journo worth their while monitors the A-league forums and sees whose names are being bandied about. With a couple of well placed phone calls they could work out who is doing what, and who's going where.

He could well have read on here that they were chasing a lithunian and rung around to find out the name.Either way I hope hes a good player because the squad looks thin compared to some of the moves made by other A -league squads.

Any particular reason for thinking that?  Or because it starts with an 'l' as well as Lithuania?  Because if that's the reason then I reckon the other will be a Latvian.
