Sorry mate, just the one's who have been willing his plane to crash, and his whole family to die. All those meat heads.

Besides the fact that I do want him to succeed in his career (not saying whether the Victory will help with this) I do hope he stays. Gives me another place to crash down in the capital after games.

I have a personal opinion that Ricki trusts professional players, even average ones, over guys who have come or are coming from amateur or semi-pro leagues. That makes it tough for NZers, thoughts?? I tend to agree with your views, those players were probably better than some foreigners signed. That DOESN'T mean that signing them (the kiwis) wouldn't have been a mistake either

Signed, not signed? Soap opera time? well, if and when he goes i had just hoped it would have been somewhere outside of the A league as I have said previously. I would love to hear the reasoning from his father as to how Melbourne are going to improve him more than the Nix.

Ricki realised he had the talent and I feel in Melbourne he'll be just another name and not a valued player of potential.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Ferk me...what a soap opera this is all turning out to be.

Now we have Mr Rojas coming out saying that nothing is signed and they are still considering all options. This explains the no comment from victory officials.

IMO Rojas senior is way out of his depth here. Managing players is actually quite a complex business. Some managers are fantastic and do a great job. Heaps of them are crap and end up causing all sort of problems.

The best option is always keep your mouth shut until you have contracts signed on paper. Having a debate in public and the media is absolutely the worst scenario. There are so many rumours and half truths floating around that no one knows what really goes on....end result, angst and speculation.

The interview with the SST should never had happened. Marco spilled the beans by saying.."he hopes the fans(YF) will understand(his leaving)". Some of Rodi's statements have not helped either. The stuff about wanting him to play AM was entirely inappropriate

I actually feel sorry for the boy. He is only just turned 19. He will have had so much advise from so many people that his head will be spinning. I have only met him once and he seemed like a shy, likeable unassuming kid. I don't think he has been malicious in what he has or is trying to do. Confused maybe, or led by others..certainly, but not malicious. He is probably genuinely upset by the malestrom this has become.

All Rodi/Marco need to do to calm the angst down is to say WHY Marco wants to leave the Nix. The big issue is that Terry's money worries (and press sabotage from NBR/DP) have made us worried about the future of our club. If - for example - we were making a profit and we'd made the grand final this year, then Marco leaving would not (I firmly believe) have caused all this angst.

Tl;dr: we are worried not so much about Marco's betrayal, but as to whether his leaving is a sign of impending doom for the Nix. And by "we" I obviously mean myself and Skippy.

I'd just like to point out to Rojas or anybody who is close to him who may be reading this thread:

Very few people, even those unaffiliated to the club, are supportive of your decision. Most Australians on fourfourtwo have very similar feelings as the yellow fever about your move. Many articles have been written and not one has been supportive of your decision.Even some Melbourne Victory fans have rubbished your decision and called you disloyal - that itself, not to mention the numerous other factors,  should ring alarm bells and make you really question your decision to move to Melbourne Victory.

Agree totally with this Rodi certainly needs a bit of good advice from a PR person. Chinese whispers was never a good communication tool and Dads dont always do the best for their sons, they try to but in the world of proffessional sport even in NZ its dog eat dog and it is my opinion that purhaps Rodi should have left this to others.

Other than JordyBean I think your states are quite sound (and I still have a soft spot for one of them).

There are others for example who support TWO EPL teams for gawd's sake.
