Come on Marco. We love you here. Don't make the same mistake as Brockie. Please stay.

The one thing I thought was stupid was Jeremy actually went to Hawke's Bay because Ricki Herbert promised him he was going to make the Phoenix. That's why he left in contract early. He kept regular tabs with Brockie then all of a sudden stopped contacting him and he never ended up picking up. So the fact they're saying ..could Rojas end up in the NZFC if he doesn't crack the starting line up in Melbourne, is ridiculous.

I don't think "they're saying" that at all actually.

It's bollox. He can still play for Chile if he wants even if he does play in the friendlies, cos he's still under 21.

Age has nothing to do with it anymore.

I'd be more than pleasantly surprised if he was selected for Chile.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

That's one thing that seems to have been completely overlooked by a lot of people.

Doh yeah of course age doesn't matter..I Didn't read the rules properly

And I agree it's probably moot anyway cos we don't seriously think Chile are going to select him any time soon do we?

I can just see the Chilean coach on the hotline to the FA there:

"There's a 19 year old in New Zealand.......  ...New Zealand, no I don't know where it is either......... who has made 10 starts in the A League...............what, the A League, it's some league they have down there.............anyway, he's apparently carved up in some of those games so I'm going to select him. Eh? What do you mean I'm fired.."

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Ah but wait.. When he mentions he's going to sign with glamour club Melbourne Victory, he'll be "Get him in the squad pronto"

I'd be absolutely stunned, shocked if he was selected

He's not exactly off the radar.

Remember Chilean youth sides come here quite often and Marco hasn't been ignored by these sides even though he hasn't been an official part of one.

And this means his selection for a Chilean 'A' international team in an official competition is imminent?

It was more in response to the suggestion that 'there's a 19 year old...' is perhaps not entirely accurate.

Rojas senior was quoted last week when asked about Marco being selected for the March AW's friendlies.
He made the comment along the lines..." he won't be playing in any meaningless friendlies against China and Japan. His focus will be on whats important....training with is club"

I wonder if his Dad would turn him down for another "meaningless friendly"...the possible AW's charity game at Wembley against the combined British Olympic football team.

If you carved up in that game.....you would not be considering any offers from Melbourne Victory

WHAT, why would he go to the Victory??? Is he crazy?    This is distressing. Not to mention jonathan Gould leaving, Durante playing for Sydney and Terry in Court. Bad times.

Can we pay 1.6% up front and get a loan for the rest?

Marco going to the Cakes wouldn't be nearly as bad as the Tards or the Bling, esp. if we're getting Birighitta in return.Doloras2011-03-08 11:41:34
