Sorry, going to keep this off topic for at least one more post.

You guys are all right. Fortean, you're not wrong about me in any regard. I took your email the wrong way, saw it as more work for me (phone calls from the club asking about emails etc etc), and pushed back reflexively.

I don't think or pretend to speak for everyone, or anyone, but on the flip side someone has to speak or nobody speaks.

As for the help thing, I've tried heaps of times to delegate jobs out. It doesn't work. So I want to flip this on you - tell me what you can do? What do you want to do? I guarantee there is nothing that we won't hand over. Want to host or produce the podcast: please offer. Want to do web dev or design: sing out. Etc etc. Or is there something we aren't doing that you could do - we're always keen to do more.

In particular, if anyone can figure out how to engage with uni students regularly and consistently and wants to actually DO IT (not just ideas) then email me asap.

I get pretty defensive about what we do. Because it takes a monstrous amount of time AND we pay for the privilege. And I already work my arse off in my day job. So people throwing stones fuck me off. Sorry about that. Nobody ever just flicks us an email to tell us we do good shit...there's always a but.

I've been doing this for 6 years now. I'm pretty tired.

But sorry if I come across as a cunt. I'm not one usually.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Re-read the Albert Reiralution t shirt thread then. Multiple comments along the lines that you guys rock and slam dunked that one.

You do good shit.

You're a great fan based organisation.

The Yellow Fever make hundreds of people happy. Regularly.

Junior 82 does as well, but with less overhead, but he's special.

There you go. There's even a "but"...

Fuck the RBB.

they're not the clubs restrictions to be fair, they'd have tried their best to get them as good as possible for us. Any pitchforks should be pointed at the FFA.

The film or your driving licence?! Don't think Domey will need to see that right now....! :-D

My only dealing with Dome was around the moving of fixtures for the Bon Jovi concert. He didn't deal very well with an annoyed customer.
However, got to take my hat off to him for the Football United tour.
My main gripe at the moment (probably off-topic)  is the total lack of establishing a standing YF Zone in 'home' matches outside Wellington.. Every time I've gone to a 'Home and Away' game the organisation of the YF Zone has been awful, showing a total lack of understanding of a fan zone dedicated to standing.

You got me! Napier was the exception.
Even then,  the security people were initially apprehensive, 'til we started dancing with them :-)

Auckland for West Ham was a superb Fever Zone.

You're welcome.

We have engaged repeatedly with the Phoenix on this. They generally listen.

For Auckland most recently, we insisted that they move us out of the 'main stand' because (after trying it twice) it just wasn't working. They agreed and opened up the Eastern stand for us. But then not enough tickets sold to justify it, so we agreed to move into a corner, away from the masses. Worked well.

We do try. And the Phoenix do listen (mostly).

"We do try. And the Phoenix do listen (mostly)."

The first always appreciated.  Even for those of us that sit in other parts of the stadium and generally don't get directly involved in Fever events/roadtrips - you guys make a difference and it is appreciated.  Well, speaking for myself in any case.

+ good to hear that the 'Nix do work positively with you guys.  I had taken the impression that relations were more strained than that.

So I've heard on Facebook that the squadron are disbanding this season - at least on match day. Wonder how many others are going to follow?

Permalink Permalink

Not disbanding as such. Moving to GA section on the bank.

So the Northern Terrace has won after the Victory backed down on their restrictions. That is what kicked off this A-League wide crackdown, so what now?

Permalink Permalink

what a joke if it still applies to all other clubs, but not 1 of the 2 clubs that it was bought in for.

So the Victory thugs have more push than the FFA. Now there's a surprise. Gun, foot, FFA, you make the connection.

Coffee is proving tricky to organise. So I have asked the Phoenix to respond in writing to these 5 concerns/requests:

1. Anyone will be able to get a ticket to the Fever Zone on game day.

2. They won't have their ID recorded.

3. Banners and flags will continue to be allowed as they are now.

4. Anyone will be able to swap their ticket to join the Fever Zone on game day like they are now.

5. Basically there will be no new measures put in place for the Fever Zone.

Think I've pretty much covered it all off there, any extras let me know.

thanks Smithy, appreciate it. Best case scenario is they say yes to number 5 and its business as usual.

Can another person use my season pass if I can't (unless you think that's covered by above scenarios)...

The FAQ's on the Phoenix membership site has this question/answer:

Is my season ticket transferable?
No. Season tickets are not transferrable.

So I think that question isn't really an active support zone issue, it's a ticketing issue for the whole stadium, I think.
