went down to hunter st today, just to see if the store was almost ready to open before the fist home game - still nothing looking like a store, all i saw were a couple of workman sitting on their arses having lunch and really not looking to motivated to get anything done.
I have to say this but if your wanting a home shirt with a number or a name on it, don't wait until the phoenix store opens. Even if the store opens on Wednesday, I can't see them getting it back to you in time for Sunday's game.
Its just another disappointing showing from the Nix team. I know they've worked hard to get Sony on board etc, but how can a sponsor or us as fans be happy with the lack of a Nix store where we can spend our money (and our $25 voucher) and support the club we love!

Give it time. New shops can take a while and I'm sure it hasn't been top prority. Maybe signing Sony and re-making shirts, all the graphics etc was more important?
That and sorting out season passes etc

And yet is season on when the Nix were just getting started and were under all that pressure we had a brand new shop within a week or so - the old shop has been closed for months, no nix sales..the new shop has been promised for almost as long. Each of the so called delaying factors are dealt with by different parts of the nix team - Ticketek deal with the season passes,(badly), Reebok deal with the shirts, so that leaves the nix team or at least some of them to make sure we have a shop to go to!

I got a few "Stand Up" ones. Will bring them on Sunday. However things like club badges and other types of stickers are an yntapped market for the Nix. Key rings, pencil cases, lunch boxes, water bottles, pens, coffee mugs, Beer handles, pillow slips, duvet covers, Team/player posters, all sorts of things we dont really see are just waiting for the club to get a peice of.

Have also put this in the new shirts thread, but after a few emails I have clarified the position from David Dome Marketing Manager is as follows:
Phoenix themselves will only be selling SONY shirts. These will not be available in time for the game on Sunday they think, so it's likely the first time they can be purchased from them (ie using the vouchers) will be when the Phoenix Store reopens next Friday 21st or at the members only event the day before (Thursday 20th). The vouchers can be used at the stadium, but as there won't be any shirts this Sunday, could only be used for other merchandise.

I'm still not sure where it is? I have looked on the bus, and I always assumed it was going to be the one on the corner - is it next door to that one (corner of Hunter and Willis?)?

Hunter and Jervois Quay. The ASB tower is where the Phoenix offices are and it's on that corner... opposite where Victoria Street starts.

Finally managed to get to the new nix shop today......was I disappointed hardly anything new. I already have the home and away shirt and apart from a few things for the kids and girlies there was nothing...the discount for spending $50 was an ok idea but there was nothing to spend it on...so wasnt worth the offer. I feel that the nix have really missed the boat here and that RYOS have so stolen their thunder. In fact Ryos sell the nix jacket which is useful for the colder nights and the nix dont...sort of tells a story for me

Are you getting more of the '09 T-shirts back in stock in normal adult sizes out of interest??
The official store is in a bit of a funny place in town, not a lot of footfall of shoppers past that corner compared to the Cuba St store?
Was at the away game in Sydney the other week, and they were selling merchandise at the stadium, the number of folks I saw buying scarves and hats and stuff! Is there any reason that either the Phoenix or RYOS are not selling Phoenix merchandise at the stadium on matchdays, there must be scope there to sell some gear I would have thought?

As for the 09 tees we will be placing another order shortly Sit tight as soon as they arrive ill post on here

Well as a non-feverzoner and never round that side of the stadium I have never noticed that, perhaps selling out in the other half of the concourse or outside maybe a good idea, thats a year and a half of games I've been going to and didnt know about it...

Just asking.
It is the traditional merchandise spot for events at the the stadium and is in the direction the majority of people head. I can't imagine it is viaqble for them to set up a seperate stall and staffing it when only a couple of hundred people sit around that side.
Lucky you've got folks to let you know where it is so you can check next time.

Sure they could maybe manage a few signs saying "Phoenix Merchandise on sale this way" and a big huge arrow??
They can manage a bloody awful band singing outside and lots of folks handing out beer towels and those inflatable bangy stick things, surely they could manage a big sign...

Well I have never really wanted to find it, just wondered if we did sell the stuff as hadn't seen any on sale...!?!
Surely the whole point of stadium merchandising is impule buys from people as they pass the sales area, if they are not positioned as people are entering the stadium then they will lose people like me who have no need to turn right instead of left, they should be selling stuff outside either before or just inside the turnstiles, somewhere everyone has to pass coming into the ground?
It defeats the purpose a bit and probably loses potential sales if you have to go looking for it, and like I said in a year and half of going to Phoenix games neither me or anyone I go with is aware that there is a merchandising area!
At Sydney they were seliing it before you got into the stadium, where everyone had to pass by to get to their seats.

I too thought there wasn't really that much in the shop, but there wasn't last year either really.
Ideas for new stuff (can be corrected if item already exists!) -
Phoenix calendars - launched with a player signing session as well. Always a good xmas present for the kids!
Different styles of scarves - I think there is only one kind of scarf just now? It's decent, but some different ones would add more variety. Plain yellow and black with just an embroidered badge at one end would be good I think.
Little metal badges with club crest on etc - a lot of people collect these things back in the UK and put them on scarves, hats etc
Phoenix toasters / kettles! - I'd be tempted if they looked decent!
Other than the above, just maybe a bit more variety with official t-shirts / tops etc and maybe a review on the pricing - I like that grey hoody they have, but not enough to pay $110 for it.

The toaster would need to be sold with (e.g. for next game) NQF bread and have one setting: Burnt.
