Japanese striker Hiroyuki Takasaki is still liking most recent Nix Instagram posts, if that's anything to go by.

I like them too, so maybe it doesn't mean much!

Are you hinting that you might be our new striker? This thread is lacking names being thrown into the mix, so I'm keen to grasp hold of this speculation.

So it's the 15th, what time does the window shut?

Don't get your hopes up for any movement. Was joking with Phillip Rollo about trying interview Uffie thru a car window in true deadline day tradition and he replied with this:

Pretty dire. Uffie and Dome kept saying that the club was offered heaps of talented strikers, but that they were going to be picky and get the one that they believe is the best fit for the club. But I'll level with you guys, I'd rather we bring in a striker that might not be the absolute right guy but can still play solid, rather than play half of the season without a 9 at all. I've really liked some of the signings we have made so far - the young Kiwis filling up our squad is what many of us have always wanted, Steinmann and Ball look really tidy, Marinovic was a good get. But failing to sign a first team quality striker in 5 months of off-season is pretty disappointing from the club, massive fail there. Sure they had an A and B choice close to signing before other circumstances got in the way, but it was left really late anyway. For a team that seems to just try to cross and and play long balls into the box when the opposition defence is deep and compact like the Bitumens, without a proper 9 it looks pretty bleak. Ball is a 10, Waine is still too raw, McCowatt and Piscopo are more suited to playing slightly behind or wide of a centre forward, and Sotirio is a donkey. Getting a striker was crucial and not something that can wait three or four months

Agreed. Waiting for Jan is not an option. I actually do worry where our goals are going to come from. Christ, even getting someone on loan until then would be a better option. I don't doubt they've tried, but failing is really bad.

Should've just kept Sheridan.

I think this is fair, we really lacked some physicality up front on Sunday, was all a little lightweight especially as you say once we started throwing crosses in later on

Disappointing to say the least. Oh well - maybe we'll be the first club to win the golden boot on "opposition own goals"

As much as i hate to say it, Sheridan would have been a great option right now

Sheridan scored a hatty the other day.

After having Krishna up front last season, I am really not going to enjoy watching the Nix if Sotirio is our starting no 9. Bugger.

As a bench player to come on and add late pace into our attack ok. But as a staring no. 9. That is lame

Back in August, in what looks like was a pre season Cup game.

In the Israeli league (Ligat ha'Al) he has 1 goal in 6 games.

Nikita Rukavytsya has 5 league goals at Maccabi Haifa in 6 games.

Trent Sainsbury - Socceroos skipper & ex team mate of Ryan Thomas at Zwolle & PSV - is also now at Haifa.

Clearly time to sign a sister club partnership with Haifa. Let's get Sainsbury and Rukavytsya on loan, and lend them Sotirio and any other fav scapegoat of the day in exchange, to help them with their quality imbalance in the squad.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Trialled and wasn't wanted.

That Pengelly fella from Brisbane Strikers looked decent, and has had some good reviews.

On the basis of Sunday's performance, Watson would fit in but do we really want to go there? Really?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Correct m if I'm wrong but the transfer window closing only means we cannot transfer anyone in mid-contract.  Generally, the players we sign are free agents anyway as we are not really into paying transfer fees?  So we can sign anyone off contract at any time?

Rosi is still a free agent from the last time we looked at him, seems like unless he drops his wage demands drastically his career is over.
