Why so cheap though? Because they aren't sending a first grade team or is it because they are also (possibly/confirmed?) playing Sydney and we are halving costs?

He was talking about the crowd number. 18-20k crowd.

Yeah I meant we must have gotten the deal cheap if we only needed an 18-20 K crowd to break even.

Go halves with the Auckland council on a game up there and make the costs even less. I'm sure they want to take another game on.......

Whoops.
I think it was something like 1.1m to get them over here from aus.
Perth would have had to pay the most.

I do wonder if they will bring the big name players.
The Juventus game was really just the junior team (With a few senior players thrown in).
I would feel a little bit ripped off if I just got to see a bunch of Everton juniors instead of the proper First team.

SIGH! Of course they will. You think for a match fee like that Terry is going to say "yeah, that's fine. Bring your "B" team"

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I still can't find that shirt. If I keep looking for it and Everton don't turn up is that energy wasted?
Mind you, I did find my Morocco one. The change that the national team used to wear in the late 80s.It really is "of its time"... don't think that will be seeing the light of day again.

I thought that was compulsory

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

If Everton pull off a bit of an upset in the FA cup this year and take that out, or even make the final, that would surely increase the numbers at the game...

Small problem, they're playing United in the semi. United have never lost an fa cup semi, ever. They've also been steam rolling their way to five trophys.

Still FA Cup semi-finalists isn't bad.

If my memory serves me rightly 1965 fa cup semi final was Leeds 1 Scumbags united 0 for one. Liverpool won final.
So they have lost a semi final.

and I hope thet lose another one this year.

does joachim support the scum by any chance, they seem to always forget the games they lose, apparently they are going to win every trophy they have played for this season, this funnily enough does not include the european super cup . (why would it Zenit won that and guess who they beat}.

Wrong. They have. I can think of... Leeds in 1965. West Ham 1964. Everton 1966. Leeds 1970.

Back to the gist of the thread....   Al reminded me that in the mid-80s he gave me a scarf (after we won the Championship 1985)...  trust him to remember....   and then I found it!

Meh, I quoted a bbc commentator on that one and didn't bother to wikipedia long before my birth, crawls back in hole
(feeling slightly betrayed by what should have been a neutral and knowledable network, now I know).

Still funny to see a Liverpool supporter cheering for Everton though tbh.

From the radio news this morning, It sounds that the Nixs vs Everton game may be unlikely to go ahead because of Everton's schedule after their Perth match. (Why they bother with Perth is anyone's guess). According to a reported quote by TonyP on the Radio, it seems unlikely.

Just as good, since they weren't gonna bring their first team anyway.
Who'd have gone to watch that?

No cause they'd just bring a third string?

Pretty guttering. Really hope we can pull it out.
Will be annoyed if another game goes to Auz instead.

Don't see why we have to be difficult about dates; why can't we wait and see when Everton want it for?

Why do we need the date confirmed so soon?
