Some of the criticisms on here are hilarious. We are not Barcelona.

I think we played one of our best games football-wise (ie coherent passing and getting into threatening positions). It was pleasing on the eye for the most part. But, far from perfect and we got punished for a few moments of schoolboy defending.

On balance, one of our better displays. I know it's all about goals, but this gives me more hope than some of the disjointed jobbies on display earlier in the season.

Can't wait to fly down to ChCh and see RO-HUS in the middle of the street.

how is a meandering attack pleasing, we looked comparitively slow in the passing department, Possession was lost way too easily at crucial moments, apratr from the brief period where we dominated and the last 10 when Sydnee had backed off we were poor.

Vader - my opening comment was clearly not serious. You took it literally and that's where I should have ended it if it wasn't for you're 'all he's good for is clearing the ball' comment, which is just plain stupid.

I don't feel like I have to argue with you (and I actually just can't be arsed) but Siggy wouldn't be there if that's all he was good for. That's all I have to say.

Please enlighten us then. You don't feel like you have to argue because you are not putting up anything to argue against.  Saying 'he brings more to the table that that just clearing' isn't arguing. Thats like saying that 'Daniel is the best winger in the league cause I said so'. No substance to your point.

At least I have put up my point and have defended it. Where is yours?

They're just more clinical. On the break you just know something is gonna happen for them. With us it's all a bit static at times. Not that fussed with that, we conceded goals playing for an equaliser. Not really the end of the world. For about 70 minutes we were well in that. Quit f**king whining like it's the end of the world and we got beaten 5-0 by our biggest rivals...

We were the better of the two teams, but they beat us on the break everytime.

Siggy should not be used wide.. he spent more time in the midfield cause he couldnt get back fast enough. Sorry siggy.

We could have done with Musa's throwins in the last 20 mins or so..

Rojas for start please Ricki.

Well he's never going to last 90 minutes if he isn't ever getting 90 minutes!

Time for Ricardo to try something a bit different from the START of games rather than going for broke 15 minutes from the end.

Yeah I don't know - I think almost any defender - school boy to international would have stopped and yelled at the ref.

Its been clarified by aikenmike that on replay on mysky, it was onside so stop with the crap about it being offside.

What so the 2-0 win, two games ago, against Heart where Ricki mixed up completely from the start, wasn't good enough for you?? Short memories on this forum.

Not a stellar game from our back 4 and I really do feel for Durante being surrounded by players not playing to their capability. The finish from D-Mac is what we have missed all season.

Rojas can beat players on the dribble sure enough, can he do anything else?

He seemed to be able pass first time accurately along the ground, has a very good corner and free kick, he can cross just as good as the rest of the wide players, has a mostly flawless first touch, seems to have a lot of intelligence on the play (positioning in general and that little flick) add that to the fact he can beat players - consistently - and I'm not sure why you'd want to complain.

So he can't shoot and he's a little small. The entire Barcelona team are midgets with similar qualities - shooting can be worked on.

Yeah I'll roll with that. Fair points. I'd like to see him track back more but I suspect he's been told to stay high.

Its very close, but he is just behind as the ball as released on mine - depends on which frame you pause it on. Either way, its so close that it is not worth getting upset about as there is no way the linesman could make that call at that speed.

Almost as many excuses as Terry uses for the taxman. We have been crap nearly all season we are still crap and still the excuses stack up.Yep there has been the ODD moment of good play but they have been  far out weighed by the bad.

Dont really give a toss what people think im allowed my view have earnt that having been there from the start and still being there no matter what rubbish is served up.

Hate the fact we lost - especially to those cheating bastards but I thought we weren't too bad overall.

We look at our most dangerous, apart from any time Ifill has the ball, when we take the game to them rather than try and pass them to death. When we run at the defenders we can cause problems - Ifill, Rojas and Leo - when he turns up to play. We also cause problems when we go through the middle with Ward, Brown and, f**k me, even Lia playing really good through balls tonight.

I'm buggered if I know why we keep trying to go down the wings - we can't cross for sh*t and we haven't got anyone in the box any good in the air or quick enough to get in front of defenders.

I think Leo, if fit, should come in for Daniel who is well and truly past his best by date - other than that I think today's squad should be given a few games to hopefully really gel.

In defense we also seem to be slow to mark supporting players - we seem to react after the pass rather than anticipate the pass - that's just being tuned in.

I think for us to win a few games it's about mind set and tactics - I saw enough tonight to think we can get in the play-offs if we dig deep.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

ffs sakes guys that was one of our best displays of the season, Sometimes you can play really well but still come of one the wrong side of a result....

We all know Sydney need to put the FOOT back into Football that hand ball was blatant and very hrsh on the players when we where chasing the game...
For those saying Hearfield was at fault for the first goal need to look at the replay, Durante was beaten way to easily by Bridge who made a good yard to get the cross in...
Lia had a really good game battled really well

Bring on Christchurch!

1 win out of how many? Seems to be you that has the memory loss as you've forgotten all the results other than that game!

I'm not coming in a f**king match thread after a loss - or even probably a win again. Just full of all these boring, old people coming in here to have a whinge abuout Ricki. Not that you'll miss me.

Honestly wtf - the nix as a team arent going to win unless they view the game objectively. Its not about excuses, its about analysing the game without emotion in an attempt to get a somewhat unbiased view - focus on improving the good points, and fixing the bad. While yes, there were some bad points - the team as a whole showed plenty of positive that should greatly outweigh the angst - though I guess if you want to be a sad sack every game the nix lose then fair enough, life must suck for you this season.

You've kinda picked the wrong thread to call that in although the 2nd goal was onside so we should stop whinging about that at the very least.
