sh*t, we're f**king hopeless, sack the coaches, f**k we're sh*t, sell all the players, f**k this, f**k that we're so hopeless.

I'm not coming in a f**king match thread after a loss - or even probably a win again. Just full of all these boring, old people coming in here to have a whinge abuout Ricki. Not that you'll miss me.

Hang in, its not that bad

I think we played a lot better than many other matches tonight. AND we kept playing until the final whistle, instead of dropping our heads and just settiling on the loss.

We were shat on when they were on the break, but i believe we were the more dominant team for the rest of play. There were a handful of near misses that if converted would have meant a different result. Couldnt say the same for Sidknee

Seriously? That's appalling for a place the size of Sydney. A bit wet though, I guess.

Not true, had it paused on MySky, definitely onside.

Don't spoil my angst with logic and truth!
according to my version of mysky he is offside....resume angst.

Its very close, but he is just behind as the ball as released on mine - depends on which frame you pause it on. Either way, its so close that it is not worth getting upset about as there is no way the linesman could make that call at that speed.

and yet they can make those calls against us, whose side are you on????

To be honest i'd prefer us moaning about that, as opposed to angst towards the team for playing sh*t.

Well he's never going to last 90 minutes if he isn't ever getting 90 minutes!

Time for Ricardo to try something a bit different from the START of games rather than going for broke 15 minutes from the end.

What so the 2-0 win, two games ago, against Heart where Ricki mixed up completely from the start, wasn't good enough for you?? Short memories on this forum.

Here I was thinking he'd just replaced Greenacre with Ifill and brought Daniel in.

1 win out of how many? Seems to be you that has the memory loss as you've forgotten all the results other than that game!

Who was talking about the other results? you were complaining that Ricki in your words "needs to try something from the START of games" - I just pointed out that he did, and we won. No need to bring a strawman argument into this.

Sigmund - out of position/beaten for the first goal which caused other 3 to have to slide across leaving Gan to come in far side.
             - 3rd  goal, yes it was handball but Siggy should have dealt with it earlier, just cleared the ball instead of trying to turn back towards his own goal and shield the ball. Then NEVER just stop regardless of crap decision.
             - of the 30+ balls put into the box Siggy probably put 10+ in, especially after Rojas started causing Sydney to double team him. EVERY cross from Siggy was absolute rubbish!!!

Siggy is a very old fashioned stopper, kicks people, wins headers etc. but can only play as a centre back, but North and Durante are better and possibly Musa..
Hearfield with no left foot should not have been at left back.. Musa would have done better.
Rojas is an impact / luxury player who certainly needs a good defensively minded fullback behind him who will just give him the ball quickly (you could hear the bench screaming at Siggy to just give Marco the ball) and do his defensive work.

If everyone fit..

                            Paston

Muscat        North            Durante       Musa

Ifill             Ward            Brown?       Bertos

                  Macallister                Greenacre

Rojas to come on on the right for Bertos with Ifill going left with 30min to go.

How many times could you have said that this season though? After every defeat? Surely there comes a point where we run out of excuses?

Honestly wtf - the nix as a team arent going to win unless they view the game objectively. Its not about excuses, its about analysing the game without emotion in an attempt to get a somewhat unbiased view - focus on improving the good points, and fixing the bad. While yes, there were some bad points - the team as a whole showed plenty of positive that should greatly outweigh the angst - though I guess if you want to be a sad sack every game the nix lose then fair enough, life must suck for you this season.

Again - how many chances do we need to improve these good points and fix the bad points? It is not happening?

Pardon me for being unhappy when we lose, who'd have thunk it.

Fair enough - I guess no one on here is happy with losing, again, and it shows.

I think though that the good points are improving, the bad points still need to be worked on - a lack of a natural right or left back can't help here I imagine...

I wasn't talking exclusively about personnel. And bringing in Daniel to start is hardly that different - he's tried that one for about 3 years now and it's worked about twice.

I am more talking like getting a formation and line up that enables us to play how we did in the last 15 minutes or so in particular. Ricki is too conservative to try such things from the start of games but our defence is so garbage this season that there is no point trying to be conservative, as evidenced in the appalling amount of goals we've conceded.

Well I agree with the last point. The ludicrous fullback situation should have been addressed LONG ago but we just keep signing midfielders instead.

North is better than Sigmund, more composed, more pace, better discipline..

Muscat one I will consider, maybe Muscat instead of Brown but then who at right back (NOT Siggy!!) maybe Hearfield..?

could have finished with a different result, didn't

great to see Marco playing so promisingly again

i'd like to see 442 so we have that bit more presence in the box

ifill and greenacre up front
marco and ward/bertos wide (as soon as marcos fit)
brown and manny central
north siggy dura hearfield at back

don't think siggy can play fullback against pace

like what Ricki's been trying the last couple of weeks

the D is getting better, but handling sydney's pace was a big step up

we can still be in the hunt for top six

How come we only see you on here when we're losing?

North was just terrible in the 2nd half, hand ball was a horrible decision, I honestly wouldn't be able to play on if I did that in a game. Hearfield made a complete hash of the 1st goal and Brown, Rojas and Greenacre all missed gettable chances.

End result should have been 2-2 and I think we at least deserved a point, one of the few games where were the better team and deserved to get something out of the game.

Certainly no angst should be towards Ricki, again stupid defensive blunders led to us chasing the game, he threw the kitchen sink into getting an equaliser and the players missed 4 or 5 chances to get the draw.
blub blub blub,  Im on this site almost daily.  But I dont find it acceptable that our team preforms like this week in week out,  we should be setting a bench mark for the other clubs to follow,  you seem to forget that we arent and wont be guarunteed a spot in the league at end of license period and if the Nix dont entertain they wont be renewed,  we fought hard to get the 5yr license lets ensure we keep it and dont loose it due to poor preformance

North is a more skillful footballer but at the moment, I wouldn't say he is playing the better football. Having said that, Siggy was rubbish tonight and Ray Charles might have had a better chance of seeing North.

NO!! Usually I'd agree with you but for some reason after this game I am right pissed off. We created chances, ran at opponents (sometimes even with the ball!)had plenty of shots on target and were still undone by a couple of (from my non MySky view) offside decisions (one for Sydney, one against Ifill)and as blatant a handball as you will ever see. !!!

Yes I was waiting for the Ifill decision to come up.  This was one where Manny Muscat was bursting through the middle.  He passes left to Ifill, there was not a chance he was offside.

The goal we scored, very nice.  A great move through the middle, lovely through ball.  D'Mac played with a fair bit of energy when he came on.

Hearfield gets in the way for the first goal.  Rojas lazy and waiting for a whistle which results in the second.  Then another handball for the third.  Can't stand them.

Good to see D-Mac score.

Fact we were the better side overall and deserved at least a point is both encouraging and depressing.

We'll almost certainly lose to Adelaide, I've accepted that already, but when it happened and it's two losses in a row there'll be sack Ricki calls left, right, and centre.

I thought we actually dominated,id love to see territory stats!

Finished watching scratching my head at how we lost 3-1. They had 3 chances and scored them. We had a heap of chances and didn't. It's the way it goes sometimes I suppose.

Not surprised certain people have taken the opportunity to depress the rest of us with over the top angst.
