It's not. JV asked a question and got an answer, so I'm not sure how it was interpreted as a 'burn'.

'honking', 'burn' - thank goodness for urban dictionary as I have no idea what the yoof means these days.

Back in my day every one was a 'good joker' and everything was 'grouse'.

If you read his full post you can see it is really terrible stereotyping with Doloras refuting every point.

With out trying to offend anyone, would many PI's come along? Is that the right targetted marketing when South Auckland is a typical league strong hold. I guess some SI residents may come along. I would have thought that belt from New Lynn, down through Onehunga, Sandringham, Mt Roskill, Mt Albert (where you could throw a blanket over about 7 football clubs) through to the Ellerslie, Mt Wellington out east way would have been the place to put the advertising as thats where most of the clubs are.

I get what you mean, but I'm not a PI and I saw it in there. I'm sure loads of people who live and work in Manukau aren't PIs. My point was that I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it advertised! It may well be being advertised elsewhere as well. I'm sure it is.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

a) There are people in South Auckland who're not "PI"'s, amazingly enough. People of Indian subcontinent heritage as well as Pakeha people are mainstays of the football clubs down there.
b) Many PIs play football, particularly for Onehunga-Mangere AFC.
c) You could "throw a blanket" over about seven football clubs from Manukau City. Off the top of my head, there's 3 in Papatoetoe, 2 in Manurewa, 1 in Otara and then MCAFC itself.;

HSOB, Clendon........

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I'll admit there is a bit of stereotyping in there but I certainly do not mean it in a negative way at anyone. Besides. I've never seen the word Dorklander in this forum...
I'm happy to stand corrected on my point. I guess the clubs I was thinking of operate at the higher ends of the leagues (Bay Olympic, Lynn-Avon, Central, MAP, Metro, Onehunga, Three Kings, Eastern Suburbs, Ellerslie,  etc)

Manurewa is in the NRFL Premier League and Papatoetoe is in Div 1. In any case, I live in MAP/Metro territory (although play for Unimount these days) and there's been serious postering around here.

He's not listed in the squad but he's not listed as an 'out' either. Could be a mistake.

Going to the Wellington Phoenix FC V Perth Glory game on Saturday? Then head to The Fox on the viaduct before and after the game.

They treat the Fever well down there and are chucking on some great food and drink deals, including:
- Big breakie and a beer for $25.00 on Saturday and Sunday
- $6 pints of Macs
- 20% off all food for the weekend

All you have to do is bring your Fever Card (available on the day if you don’t have one)

Really looking forward to sampling the Eden Park fever zone on Saturday. Hopefully we will be allowed to stand and generate a bit of noise. There are five of us flying up from Wgtn - it should be a cracking day out.

See you all at Fox's. Mon the Phoenix!

So do we still have half the travelling Fever off to Kiwitea Street and the other lot going to The Fox for a drink?

If the weather is going to be 26 degrees I might have to go to the pub for some hydration, but Kiwitea Street would be a laugh.

With the players that they have lost, those that are out injured and the travel, we have to look to put 3 points away here. The stars are certainly aligned for it.

If we can't pick up points against Perth then we aren't going to be able to do it against the higher ranked teams, three points here is a must. With a tough away game next week, a loss against Perth could put us 6 or 7 points behind the top 6 after the end of the next round, but a win would put us right in the mix. It's getting to the stage where we cannot afford to lose.

Break even is around 15K according to the same news item.

Still, as the capacity at the Breakers game is 9K (I think), at least we'll outsell them.

(p.s going by the smile on the end, I'm not sure he was being serious about the 12K walk up crowd.)

As they said, they did 7k tickets on the Friday last year so that number will climb today.  Hopefully the ticket windows won't be a train wreck like last year.

Different ticketing company to last time, so hopefully they have learnt from their predecessors.
