That article is actually alright. It is refreshingly free of negative spin and presents a picture of all parties simply trying to work through a difficult situation.
Presumably that's because it was written by the business desk and not wannabe investigative journalist Dave Burgess.

JD and I have also been going through a rough patch lately. He could say the sky was blue and I would argue that it's actually red. I know we'll work it out though.
He'll be awake again soon. It's my favourite part of the day - eagerly anticipating when he will get back online and start tip-tapping away on his keyboard.

One bright side to all of this is that the 442 forums are full of Aussies gloating and Kiwis panicking over the "imminent demise of the Nix", which will make it much sweeter if we come back from this to make a real title push.

ANYWAY BACK ON TOPIC! At least Syed was revealed to be dodgy before this happened to us.
To state the bleeding obvious - again - the longer Terry remains linked to Ali Syed in the public/media mind, the more foolish/dodgy Terry looks.

This I agree with. I have been telling myself for months that Terry is keeping up appearances while he readies some kind of strike against Syed to get his money back, but it is possible that he is still "on the hook".
Still, Lucas Pantelis, Jimmy Downey and Nick Satellite seem to have enough information to indicate that they'll be making a living from WPFC this year.Doloras2011-07-19 18:07:35

Does it ultimately really matter how foolish or dodgy he looks?
My insanely sunny personality say "no, Terry has been despised by many in Wellington for years and it hasn't hurt him much". My paranoid personality says: "what if the public turns against the Nix because they associate us with Terry's dodginess? Then we'll never turn a profit and therefore never attract a better owner/funder".
Doesn't change the fact that - in the absence of the Mystery Man riding to the rescue - we're stuck with him for the time being, so let's remind ourselves of his good qualities.Doloras2011-07-19 18:13:52

I'm not too fussed if people think our owner is foolish...
He could be keeping some away from games though. But surely the people stubborn enough to stay away just because they don't like Terry is minimal. I know some who don't like him but still turn up too.
It's not a problem. The only problem is the finances, and if he goes bankrupt, will someone step in to take over (and keep the team in Wellington).
