The Glazers
They don't impact on the clubs' images
Fans of FCUM would beg to differ with you on that one. (Could disaffected anti-Terry Nix fans end up becoming a Team Wellington Knitting Circle?)

To be fair though, we are just arguing over use of the word "sold".
The point is that the Nix could change "owners" or "funders" or whetever very easily if:
1. there was someone willing to take them on (no evidence of this at all to date);
2. Terry wanted to let them go (which, for better or worse, he doesn't); and
3. the FFA approved (which you'd expect they would).
Exactly. The owner/funder rubbish is a straw man and has nothing to do with the future of the club

So your avatar is to scale then?
Yep, it has the face and everything.
Bit pissed off you changed your avatar back Cosimo.
Now none of the discussion about your cock makes any sense.

I think what people are trying to say has gotten lost in this thread as people have started arguing about semantics (sounds like something that Mel Gibson would do). I am pretty sure no one is looking at the problems possibly impacting the club purely so they can go "ha ha. Look, I was right and we now have no club. Aren't I wonderful?" if the unthinkable happens, nor are they trying to be doom mongers.
It is more a desire to see something trying to be done about it - a call to arms, if you like. As a supporters group with strong connections to the club, can we not use these to try and get some additional information? Have we looked at a trying to get a meeting with Terry to get some assurances that there is a plan beyond increasing unlikely middle east cash? How is Terry's business problems affecting the club - are they separate?
Also, are we able to get a meeting with Sam Morgan (or any of these other cashed up fools) to discuss the possibility of getting him on board? It may not be possible (everyone could tell us to f**k off and stop wasting their time) but it is an attempt.
All the arguements on here are basically about the same thing - the survival of the club. No one is taking any sort of pleasure about the clubs current position, but equally no one should be getting c**ted off for suggesting the reality of it.
All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite

What?!?!?!? The players werent supposedly organising a petition back then...
Hang on. The only source for this is someone in Melbourne who heard from someone that might have heard from a player that they could be signing a petition to go to New Zealand football about the ownership of an Australian club...
My English is not perfect. I have come to this exotic part of the world to improve it. But I am greatly, greatly confused about message above. It makes little sense to my uneducated in English eyes. I sincerely hope you are man of intelligence, as my sampling of your vocabulary artistry has left me wanting Alhambra Negra and squinting of my eyes to try to comprehend your meaning. Buenas Noches

Can I just say I am really enjoying the comedy stylings of this fesanchez character.
Not quite as good as Lynn of Tawa, but definitely up there with the ZM morning crew.
It's rare to find such biting, insightful satire in New Zealand. Kudos.

I find the consistency lacking for a really good multi. One minute we have word perfect English grammar then we get some mixed up words. I'd suggest a little more work is needed. C to C+.
As you say ZM Morning Crew funny.

My insanely sunny personality say "no, Terry has been despised by many in Wellington for years and it hasn't hurt him much". My paranoid personality says: "what if the public turns against the Nix because they associate us with Terry's dodginess? Then we'll never turn a profit and therefore never attract a better owner/funder".
[/QUOTE]
Exactly. This is essentially the argument in a nutshell.

I comfort myself with the idea that Terry perhaps knows something that you and I and Dave Burgess don't know. Perhaps he has the goods on Ali Syed and is trying to scam him in return ("I will continue to prop up your good name IN RETURN FOR SOME ACTUAL MONEY, you scamming son-of-a-suitcase"). But I don't expect a reasonable person to accept that.Doloras2011-07-20 11:27:44

It's interesting tho that of his whopping 17 posts - two of them are about not understanding HN's turn of phrase...

This is interesting.Terry has been uncompromisingly supportive of Ali Syed throughout all of this saga. Ali Syed has a public ally with Terry, a rarity it seems.
Ali Syed's m.o. seems to be to blame affected parties for turning against him after he's failed to make scheduled payments, Racing Santander most recently. We may not have heard the end of it yet.
Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!

I heard FFA are more worried about the stability of three other clubs than that of ours. So the club = okay, the league = farked.
I Think the whole league will fall over before to long imo it's just not gaining any momentum on the main codes in Aussie. sucks because i love the Nix and the idea of professional football in Australasia. bit to pessimistic ?

Yes.
The FFA can't afford for it to die. It may need a re-invnet but everything is key on how the FFA sell the next bulk telly deal to FOx. It will underpin a genuinely viable A-League as well as everything else they want to do, and hopefully allow for some actual promotion of the league.

I think that this is the most educated comment in the past 50 pages. I have also noted no one has really commented since the idea was raised but instead have reverted to the usual drivel.
Instead of saying the best thing we can do is buy a season pass, lets see some real action. Terry could tell us to f#$$ off and it is in his right to do so, but he should also appreciate the fans concerns if no one else. AucklandPhoenix2011-07-20 16:18:54

I love how the people that don't live in Wellington and have never met Terry advocate approching him to suggest he relinquish the club.
This isn't Manchester United, Barcelona or Fulham, it's not a club with 150 years of supporter buy-in. It's a four year old entity built out of one mans ego yet people suggest supporter power should have an input?
Dreaming.

What if it was more of an old fashioned lynch mob though? We could get some pitchforks and torches and burst into the Century City offices for some sweet mob-justice.

I think we should have a peaceful sit-in and sing lots of folk songs.
Until the pigs move us along.
We did that inside the stadium after a Kingz game here when they tried to biff a Bloc 5 Ringleader out for standing on the seats. Chris Turner fetched Stadium Management to get the security to back down.
Referred the Bloc as 'Salt of the earth people' which always makes me ARF!
