Disagree if thats the case then why email the fan base.

Because it's a way of getting the message out, there us a huge badge on the ad which says Huawei and Phoenix business FC and talks about chamber of commerce, etc.

What's the bet that if there was an unvailing at a corporate event without the information being sent to the fan base people on here would be complaining that they didn't get an opportunity to attend.

Here was me thinking they had asked me to something when all they really want is me to give them even more money.Wouldnt be so bad but they show buggar all appreciation when you do take part in their promotions. ie Football Fund may not have been the most successful promotion in raising money but a simple thankyou for participating would have been nice but nothing.

They will probably give away more tickets than they sell and just expect some of us tragics to actually hand over some cash.

Word on the street is that it's free to attend the event, just $55 if you wanna be at the sit-down breakfast.

The $55 tickets aren't aimed at tragics, they are aimed at corporates.

Nothing in the email i got suggests any of that Patrick so maybe that word on the street isnt meant for all. However if that is the case just another case of the club seemingly being unable to engage and get their message across to their fans.

The word on the street is definitely meant for all. Thats why I posted it here for all to see?

Don't blame the club at all for this - they have commercial commitments to their partners, and they've pitched this event at them while keeping it open for general fans to attend the unveiling? Think you need to take your grumpy old man hat off again Steve!

Because if they didn't, people would find out about it and yell 'I wanted to go but no one lets me know, why doesn't the club communicate properly with it's members...' etc...

I am marking this firmly in the club can't win category.

Of course they can do wrong.  I was a big critic of the excessive home and away games last year for example, even though the northern games are the few games I can get to since i moved up here.  It just seems the club can never get anything right in the eyes of some.

You complained that you'd have to pay to attend, then you got told that you'll actually be able to attend for free?

Not quite sure how anyone is saying that the club can do no wrong?

I can't wait for some fans to get married and have 2 or 3 kids, then we will see who complains as the wallet straps tighten right up. I think the point trying to be made is the club informing all fans, private and business related, what is going on, when, where, how and who etc. I really want to know how many more games are going to be on the circus. I have to start saving and also planning annual leave for such events. Especially now as Grandchild number 3 has arrived on our doorstep. She'll be a fan in the future along with her brother and sister. Still, tightening up the wallet as I don't want her to miss out.

If you'd actually read the email that the club sent to all season members, you'd know that the answer to this question is 1 or 2 more.

I didn't think about this at first. I thought they would be unveiling a new signing, or a new kit. But what if their unveiling a new Logo. I would hate it if this happened because I don't see anything wrong with the crest we currently have, and I don't want to see it go...
I still think their unveiling a new kit though, or maybe a new marquee signing in the new kit!

I did read it but 1 or 2 is not an exact figure is it?

Hey team so through all the angst etc. Can i just clarify that the unveiling at wharewaka is free for all fans. Then its followed by a breakfast that you can pay for if you want? - just checking as i skimmed the email saw a cost and disregarded it (this is my fault completely for jumping the gun)

A new logo isn't of use to us, surely. So many more priorities. The social media team would be all over that if we were to change a logo with teasers and all that.

Taranaki Whanau to gift land for a 20,000 seat, sliding roof,  rectangular multi use grass stadium.

Funding from Huawei Business Club

EDIT: I would pay $55.00 to hear that!

I am thinking along the lines of a new club logo, with Nixie astride Mt Taranaki, possibly with laser eyes

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Renamed 'New Zealand Phoenix" or "Huawei Phoenix" like the warriors.

The branding overhaul idea is a pretty good one IMHO, the whole league seems to be doing a branding refresh. With the removal of the badge restrictions we might even be able to return to our original badge or a variation of it before the FFA made us change it.

I thought we changed it because it looked a bit too much like the Reichsadler.

No, it was because all teams logos had to fit within a badge template.

This talk of rebranding and new logo will annoy me immensely if its true! There's way way way better and more important things to spend the money on....

I will be happy with that as long as it makes us play like Bayern Munich, and if as a result the craft beer price at the stadium comes down to German beer prices. Couple of bucks for a massive tankard of Garage Project, that would be worth a new logo.

I caught a little bit of an interview with David Dome on Radio sport this morning. One interesting thing mentioned was we almost signed a player who took one look at Newtown park 2, turned around, and hoped back onto the plane.

That player then went to another A-League club, became a Socceroo, and now is in Germany.

Was that Jaimie Mclaren?

He also said there is the possibility that the A-League will respect some international windows next season.

He also said they told Vinnie Lia the new coaches hadn't been annoucned and therefore the club hadnt  made their mind up as to resign him or not and said he was welcome to try other avenues and said that when the new coaches were on board he'd already linked up with ADL. Seemed to deny their was any communication issue which is what Lia has said...
