Nothing really new. Maybe that they want spend money on coach instead of marquee players. I thought it was good recap of the current plan.

I like what Gareth has said in this interview.

Gets me all excited for next season

Absolutely agree.

Also noticeable he was a bit more measured in his comments and less shot from the lip.

Bottom line - we have a group of owners who are committed to a clear plan and are going to get on and implement it.

I, for one, like the plan and the direction they are going to take the club. I also have confidence in the owners to deliver.

Roll on next season.

I also liked what he had to say. And the way he said it.

The club is lucky to have such a strong bunch of business professionals at the helm.

I don't normally disagree with you X but I found the whole thing a bit "meh" I'm glad that he didn't slag us off but there was nothing particularly amazing about it.

You cannot make an omelette without breaking eggs.

If you put the eggs in the frypan without breaking them you will just end up with warm eggs with little bits of cheese and tomato stuck to them.

Mm, sounds like someone has had media training.

Start strong, finish strong, direct problems away from you i.e. say 'yes that might be difficult for some players' not 'big changes are coming, you should be worried'.

Whew, relieved. A step back towards commonsense and stability.

Permalink Permalink

yeah, Gareth's trip away has given him some time to reflect on how to deal with the media and not sound like a millionaire crackpot.

He said SOME of us are unsophisticated. If you need an apology then you either

1, think he was talking about you and are therefore paranoid or 2, too unsophisticated to get the difference or 3, too easily offended. LOL

Didn't that quote originate with Robespierre, who was justifying the "Reign of Terror" following the French Revolution, which saw tens of thousands of people killed? And it's often attributed to Lenin or Stalin too.

Yet another media faux pas for Gareth then? :P
