[quote]If you could'nt find a sponsor to hand over some cash the next best option IMO would be to find someone to reduce your business costs. i.e give Pacific-Blue jersey rights in exchange for discount airtickets. The Phoenix must spend a shiite load of money on airtravel. That way the airline gets advertising without fronting up with cash and the phoenix get cheaper airtravel.
Not entirely sure how the A-League runs, but some professional sports leagues that are bonded to an airline (as we are) have all their travel arrangements taken care of by the league itself. So the 'nix may not be paying anything, or may be paying a flat rate along with every other team.
How about that petrol station in Rotorua with a spare $4-10 million (depending of the reports you read)courtesy of Westpac?
(Sorry if this has been done already - only read the first 5 pages)
That station is one block from my Mum's house... they used to do a killer frozen Coke.

I think YF already have a sponsorship deal with a football club.

They're rebranding domestic Qantas flights as Jetstar. International flights (with the exception of perhaps some trans-tasman flights) will continue as Qantas. Your point still applies though, and I'd imagine Jetstar have ads at the the stadium.
And as mentioned already in this thread, it's VERY poor business practice for a league sponsor to sponsor an individual team. If we get sponsored by Jetstar and then make the Grand Final, it can bring up the accusation that Jetstar put pressure on the League to have us progress further in order to maximise the brand exposure. Even if it's a false accusation, it's not a good look. Won't happen.
Which is a shame because I'd love to get membership discounts on airfares

Not quite sure what you mean by "a bust". I'm guessing you mean boost but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
I don't remember any headlines of WOW and Adelaide having anything to do with each other, but that doesn't mean I don't believe you. Are you thinking of Brisbane? Because WOW sponsor the Roar, not the Reds.
Also, I fail to see the relevance. WOW SONY isn't an A-League partner so they're free to sponsor whoever they want. Even if that's more than one club. The issue is any perceived lack of neutrality from a league partner sponsoring a team.
Hyundai, Qantas, Solo, Westfield, Ballatines, Zurich, Foxtel, Fox Sports and Optus are. Which means these companies will not sponsor individual teams. It's highly unlikely their subsidiaries will, and due to right of veto it's unlikely any of their competitors will.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
