Check a tweet by Sven Claes on twitter (sorry dont know how to link). Kreeg zonet telefoon uit Nieuw-Zeeland. Stein Huysegems (30) ondertekent er vannacht 2-jarig contract bij Wellington-Phoenix. Cool. Translate roughly as, got a call from new zealand tonight Stein Huysegems has signed a two year contract for wellington phoenix cool

"Stein Huysegems, better knows as De Kale Belg (The Bald Belgian)"

If we're right, surely we can use that in a chant

if he was our number 9, then stein rhymes with nine and hes the striker weve always wanted to sign.

Alas totori got it. Give him the number 10 for the sake of good chants!!

With the name "Stein"   there has to be an Oktoberfest chant or song that should fit ???

Most of his club games have been in the Dutch first tier, so that is a higher level than the A-League. On paper it does look a good signing.

I think he will be a great fit, a big guy to hold up play around the oppositions box while Brockie, Totori or Ifill wait on the wing for him to whack it out to them to make a blistering striker. This is pretty much what I envisaged for us, also the fact we don't know how he was played or have seen him play in his former teams means we have no idea about how oppurtunities were given to him and whether or not he choked.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

I do like the 6ft 1in though.......We are the most prolific crosses in the league

Berisha had 13 league goals in 83 appearances in various european leagues prior to his 23 in 35 for Roar

Not saying we'll provide as many goal-scoring chances for Stein as the Roar did for berisha, just pointing out that (relatively) low goal-scoring returns in decent european leagues are not evidence with which to write off an a-league signing...

Greenie was 3.4ish goals per game in England.

obviously smeltz as an example (he is used in every goal scoring in A-League argument)

I like how tall this guy is. Has he got any pace?

Really I just want a guy with confidence. Ifill was awesome when he came in and just bossed the league. Hopefully this guy can do the same.

It's been a while since I've seen someone wearing nix colours shoot outside the box with some genuine intent and confidence

Totally stoked with this (if true). I had given up hope on us getting anyone decent, so this is awesome news.

Obviously too early to know whether he's going to be a Rigters or a Berisha, but I'm going to put on my optimist hat and predict 12 goals for the season from him.

I doubt he'll be a rigters, can't find any notable injuries which is a goooood sign.

Apparently (though am trying to find legitimacy to this..) he's also played 2 matches in Europa league, wooh. Not a big deal, but still...
