Hope not. Don't rate him. Fast but not much else.

Was it him that scored that great set piece goal against us a couple of seasons back at the cake tin? If so, he'll be fine and Ernie will get the best out of him.

Must admit I really have respect for Ernies ability to select players. We all said WTF when he got in Riera. Many thought that  Kenny was going to be a Totori type dud. Ridenton has been great. I think we should trust Ernie.....he will have an idea on what sort of player he wants for what sort of role......if he thinks Gol Gol can do a job for us then thats fine by me.  Great name by the way!

Didn't this rumour float up one or two pre seasons ago when RH was in charge?

ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH

If Ernie thinks Mebrahtu can help us win the A league, then that's fine with me.

im pretty sure we were linked with gol gol when gold coast folded, i've always liked his name but not really his goal return.

We were but Ricki came out and rubbished the claims. Scott Munn, the Heart CEO said on twitter that he doesn't believe Gol Gol has signed anything with us atm.

Not sure what Gol Gol would add to our squad, would rather have Watson if we wanted a more physical option to call upon.

Imagine what Ernie could get Golgol playing like though.....

I wonder how James Musa would go with a bit of Ernie magic sprinkled on.

Especially when you consider Ernie turned Lia (LIA!) and a part-time amatuer come paramedic into one of the strongest most dominant central midfield pairings in the league. In what 4-5 months?!

Big fan of golgol. But he maybe a bit raw of a talent.

He will be 24 at the start of next season and onto his 3rd club. At what point does raw talent become just not quite good enough?

He has looked good in spurts but can't even get into a Heart team who is struggling for goals.

Hopefully this Friday evening!!

Ernie said there was zero truth to it.

Ernie can't turn average players into good ones.

Though Lia has been performing quite well, I suppose..

Just wondering if other than Roy Krishna, are we likely to get anymore long term additions?

What is a pre contract?

Like a pre nup....he keeps his assets and we can cut him adrift and get nothing if it doesnt work.

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

Would it be worth making an offer for Mooy?

What role would you use him in? That would dictate whether he is worth offering a deal too

He's definitely worth offering a deal to. He's one of the best central midfielders in the league and that is an area we lack in big time. Great passing range and vision, and can play as a holding midfielder as well as a no.10

where lia plays, just off riera. Lia has been good this season, but by his low standards. So he is essentially having a good/great season but is still only about as good as the average a league mid. Mooy would be a certain step up in class.

Personally I am not sure what I think off him. I thought he was more of a wide playmaker.

There is a bit of chatter over in Aussie that he is not as good as he is rated (RBB and out of a league pod)

he had a stellar season last year, but has been found wanting in this second year. I think the second year slump must be a player ritual in the a league excluding stien of course.

And I do not want to think how hard it would be for RR to come up with a catchy tee-shirt logo if GG plays well for us.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Agree. Despite Lia playing a lot better this season, I'd still ideally have him as a bench player, and as cover for suspensions/injuries. As it is we have Riera sitting on 4 yellows and all of us very nervous when he fouled someone on Friday, as we have not heaps of options to cover him. Disrupt a settled back four and put Manny there (where he wasn't great early in the season tbh) and bring back Caira at LB? Try Ridenton further back? Neither of these fill me with great confidence.

I too think that Mooy should be used as a playmaker - and could play very well next to a midfield "destroyer" like Lia or Manny. I guess my question is whether his style is too similar to that of King Carlos and therefore his signing may be deemed redundant. I disagree however and believe that if we had both, we could a) play Mooy wider and keep Hernandez in his current role and b) play Mooy in central MF and push Hernandez up to play either behind the striker(s) or as a "fake" second striker.

Unfortunately I think Mooy will have generate enough interest with other A-League club (if not WSW) and will opt to say in Oz, rather than to come here.

Pretty much what I was thinking. That and he has not exactly been outstanding this year like he was last year.

Its gone pretty quiet on the transfer front, we still have 1 roster spot open. I wonder if we are waiting until the European window closes, as the A-League's window closes on the 6th Feb.

Doubt we'll sign anyone.

Should have a bit of money available. Maybe Ernie is hoping to save money this year so we can get a marque next?

I don't think that's the case. The decision to sign a marquee isn't Ernie's. It rests in the hands of the owners who have made it clear several times that they will not shell out for a marquee player.

I think Ernie is quite content with the team he's got at the moment, especially after adding Krishna in January.
