speculation... with that marquee spot to fill and with Ricki saying  he MAY be on the lookout for more attacking players, I'm just stirring to be quite honest

A morsel from the last lines of the article  in Four Four Two on Durante

""Meanwhile coach Ricki Herbert will trial a Melbourne-based defender to cover the loss of Vince Lia, who's out for the season. The player arrives tonight (Monday) in Wellington.""

Anyone know who this might be??  Any spies going to training??

My spies tell me that it is Kosta Salapisidis - ex Adelaide and Australia Under 23 player

That would be a big call seeing as he packed in Football last year.

He's probably a mate of Cov's from South Melbourne though.

Manny Muscat (no relation) who playes for Green Gully in the VPL.

Dobson tried to expose the right-hand side when he put Manny Muscat on, who dominated the flank.

In the 57th minute, Mile Medjedovic was sent off for a high dangerous tackle, which left Gully down a man.

Manny Muscats blistering speed gave him the opportunity to cross a fantastic ball to the inform Joel Nikolic who could not miss the open goals for a 2-0 lead in the 77th minute.

sound's like an average to ok player from what I can find out but compared to makeshift midfielders turned wingbacks he'll do very nicely.
how about cover for lochhead now that he's off to trial for boro?
You know we belong together...

Not sure if anyone has mentioned Paul Dickov. He has turned down offers from Liecster and is now looking to the MLS.

He may be 35 but can score the goals and can hold the ball up well.

What do you think?

As a striker, not left back.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eliseo_Quintanilla

AKA "Cheyo"

One quality Central American #10, of good age and vast experience, speaks English, who'd be within A-League price range (Though standard wise a Marquee for sure):

He's had some fitness issues, but this year he's fit again. (Ed could help him then) He might be available on a free too.

Looking at a quality attacking midfielder/striker. He's on a six month deal with well known Costa Rican football club LD Alajuelense this year. Not sure when he finishes that deal or what his plans are but really worth a good looking at.

I just moved home from Melbourne and watched quite a lot of Muscat and Green Gully. He is p retty good though and an animal like his brother, Green Gully has Campbell Banks and Jeff Fleming good kiwi players. Well Fleming is good!! Banks is ok though. He would be solid in the A-league but nothing special i would have thought. good luck to him though
