At this stage he's still with DC United so all we can hope is until seasons end, and to do that he would have to stop being a guest player as guest players are not allowed in the last 4 weeks of the regular season.

Haha that you did. It is definitely a long shot but still some positive signs being shown. Here's hoping he can make a big impact on Sunday and the crowd really gets behind him.

We've got some promotion plans of our own for Sunday that may need some recruits.  People keep an eye on the forum tomorrow if you can spend an hour on Friday around lunchtime.

Fu*k i'm still gutted Moss is leaving. Paston isn't good enough.

I prefer him over Paston too, but now he has made his decision, Moss shouldn't start for the rest of the season.

Are we really going to be stuck with Paston for a couple more years? We should try pick up a good young aussie keeper.

Still disappointed my 2 favourite players wont be staying. I have a feeling that Dodd is certain to leave as well - if he wasn't he would have been signed already. NQ is my bet.

What about James Bannatyne to give Paston a run for his money?  That guy's a good keeper alright.

I would have suggested Perth's Amaral but then I found out his age... I suppose hes still younger than Coveny

What about Amaral from perth for next season. Hes off contract and he can link up play

He's looked pretty good when I've seen him (admittedly only a few times).

Better then Moss, one mistake in all his games this season.

I know you're a Paston fan, but come on, he had three pretty bad ones in the last game at Sydney alone.

Thinking out loud - if we target an initial squad of 21 - keeping 2 spots up our sleeve and to help recruit some potential match winners while staying under the cap,  we have 12 players already contracted. We need (IMHO) 2 goalies (happy with Paston as 1), 2 bloody good strikers, an attacking midfielder (e.g. Fred) and a defensive midfielder (like Ross Aloisi). That leaves 3 positions, excluding goalies, available for players with contracts expiring this season - my preferences; Dodd and Muscat (completes backline requirements) and Drapper - if Ricki believes he could reach A-league standard.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Yes, a good keeper. But in a thread earlier this year talking about Team Wellington's squad for the new season, HN listed him as one of the players they'd lost through retirement.

I know he had some injury problems. Has he made a comeback? He's only 31 which is still young for a keeper.

Agree there. Can't see why people rate him. He's slow, lacks creativity and seems to get caught in possession a lot.

As for Dodd, I like him but I don't think he's irreplaceable.

Yeah well, it was slippery and there were showers so atleast he had an excuse. Everyone is just remembering his latest game and not how he has revolutionized the nix defence.

I noticed Greg Owens and Tahj Minniecon are out of contract. I havnt seen any of them play but Owens has been part of the Adelaide and CCM teams that were placed first in the regular seaoson. Tahj is supposedly a very fast promising striker. Has anyone watched these players?

Owens moved back to the Central Coast from Adleaide because of family reasons.  Can't see him moving here, plus he's pretty injury prone.

North Queensland are sniffing around Minniecon, but most likely is re-signing for the Rorar.

I'm sorry, but thats rubbish.

I haven't been convinced with Paston in any of his games.

And it was Siggy that revolutionized the defense, Fact.

Wouldn't mind seeing Robbie Kruse in a Nix shirt. Pace to burn, young and an eye for goal. He's off contract at the end of this season as well.

Its no longer a problem.
