Anyone think that Krishna put out a decent effort against Adelaide last night?

From what I saw (only the first half), he looked alright and wasn't scared to run at players which is something we seem to lack. I wouldn't mind seeing him with another quality striker? I'd take him over Covs

He was better in the 2nd half but he doesn't look up to A League standard to me. Not yet anyway.

yeah there was quite a lot of sloppy play so its quite to hard to judge performances. but I think a regular goalscorer in the team would hep and we could get him now and I think he's got huge potential.
Is he 21 or did I imagine reading that somewhere?

He's about 21, yeah. I seem to recall that he had a training stint with the Phoenix pre-season, so I assume Ricki and co got a pretty fair idea of his potential. He's probably someone they've got half an eye on but from the noises coming out of the club they are looking off shore for strikers next year.

"i'd take him over covs" has to be one of the most common lines in this thread...

Personally I rate him - he's the rich man's Jason Lee.

Dadi would be alright. Put him in there alongside someone with a bit of pace and we'd be sorted... a bit like Perth has done, except we would have a better team to build up attacks, and a more solid defence. Him and Bertos would be ok at a pinch, but we really do need a couple of all-out strikers with a proven goal scoring record.

Dadi would be terrific if he can keep his injuries in check. Would take him in a heartbeat.

HN we don't even know if we have a future past the next 2 years.

Buying one old player doesn't inhibit building for the future.

I'd love a Dadi-like player for the Nix.  Every professional football club worth their weight in salt has a hulking black dude... Stevo2008-12-17 00:04:04

If we don't have a future beyond two years then the first thing we should be doing is signing anyone with an NZ passport to get them places at other A-League clubs if they prove to be up to it, not signing a 36yo African player.

Eh, we can't exactly be picky when it comes to strikers.

The current season hasn't even finished yet and we are complaining about not being prepared for the next already

Dadi is worth signing for chanting potential alone. If he plays well, that's a bonus imo.

...and by the time the next A-League season starts ?

He is 35yo now but he will be playing for us in 12 months time, therefore 36.

Didn't realise he was that old. Fair point... but I guess if he can score goals like the one on Saturday for another year most people won't be complaining.

definitely not Dadi. not worth it.
Chocnut, I think we should all be worried about next season, always. Look at what happened to the Jets last year. They were sitting on top of the world, then they sold all their best players and...what's going on now??

We've already lost Moss and Smeltzy, let's hope we hear of some sensational signings soon. I'm 100% behind the club, always, but I also love that feeling when you know that they've got it covered for the future.

Someone like Nikita Rukavytsya would be a good signing..He is bloody quick with the football and finishes well too..

Already signed by Perth as their U23 marquee player I think.

Plus Nikita was an Elton John song - we should not be associated with anything to do with Elton John.

Yeah sign him for a year....he's a cool guy with lots of character and would quickly become a crowd favourite plus he's been scoring goals in the A-league.

Some of the OZ blogs have been saying how Dadi and Rykuvista are the near perfect striking combination. The hitman and the speedster.

If by some miracle we got two players as good as those two next season then I would be a very happy boy!

Need to be realistic. No way in hell someone like Ruka will come to Welly. He is more likely to go to Europe and he has already signed a 1 year extension with Perth.

It isn't like there are many quality NZer's who'd come to the Phoenix who are strikers (Smeltz gone and Killen likely wanting to stay in Europe) and, imo, if there are no quality Kiwi's then may as well go for a quality import like Dadi.

And if we found out we were only going to have our license another two years we shouldn't stack our ranks with Kiwi's for the sake of it.  We all know a team like that wouldn't be as good and as a result NZ football will look worse in the eyes of Aussie football.

Would love Dadi to come, sign him for 1 season only.

He still in great form and would be a huge influence on our younger and developing players, could teach them a lot.

Sign him

Indeed we should go for a quality import, but not a 36 y.o. one! what if he pulls a hammy on matchday one??????

guys, the only time I would consider getting a 35 or 36 y.o. would be if the guy was Ronaldo, or Kaka or bloody Totti. Someone of PROVEN skills and talent. Dadi is a good player, but says who that next year he won't disappear or get injured or God knows what!
