Dadi would be one option but if we get him we need 2 other strikers i believe. Some one to  run off Dadi (like roo-ka-vista does) and a impact man who can come off the bench/cover

by the way, I said Petrovski only cause he's the only one I like off that list, but I think we could/should do better during our transfer season.

Also, I think it's time for Costa and Drapes to PLAY. give them their chance, and by that I mean get them to play a good 40-45' each game. Ricky will have to change formation next year, if we don't find someone who plays like Smeltzy, so who knows, maybe we'll see the Nix playing with 2 proper strikers? and one of them will be Costa/Drapes?

I think the chances of finding someone affordable and available to replace Smeltz (as top scorer in A-league) are very very slim.

I think we need to get two strikers anyway! Leo isn't exactly a scoring machine and we have to replace smeltz, what if the new guy gets injured, who replaces him! Its been our problem from day 1 we've had smeltz as a scorer and then one other who runs of him, ie Coveny or Bertos....what we really need is a poacher like Smeltz and a guy who can score from outside the box, like Brown has been doing.

It might be worth a shot.

Though he might have to take a significant paycut.

Remember Smeltz was struggling at his old club!

Aloisi would be solid. I don't know if he'd want to come, but after a few chats with Ross, he could be persuaded..
But would still have to be marquee and don't know if he's worthy of that spot.
But i guess he'd be more of a marquee than this seasons.
I think he might start scoring to the end of the season anyway. After he gets a morale boosting performance then he'll be away

does anyone know what's going on with Ricky's contract? Does it expire at the end of this season? I think that re-signing our coach is as important and us signing 2 quality strikers.
We're nothing (or next to it) without him.

Also, please please please, let's keep McKain. I hear he's under contract for next season too. I'd start working on a new contract asap. We don't want him to pull a Smeltzy (or a Mossy for that matter) on us...

NZP, how is re signing Ricki ( who I beleive doesnt need resigning yet) more important than two strikers? I quote  "we are nothing without him".

Many would say the same with Smeltz before he came here, sign him if we can get a good deal.

i would actually be happy if aloisi signed - afterall he joined ccm after missing preseason and the first quarter of the season and was still able to pull out 7 goals and 2 assists.
