Watched Derbyshire play today, wasn't as impressive as i thought did the simple things right had a pretty good touch but was too easily pushed off the ball.

Surely someone has mentioned him before but Rory Fallon? I've never seen him play so I don't know how good he is, I know that on the all whites topic that someone said he's fallen out of favour with his club so maybe he could be keen on the move south?

I think a fair few pages of this thread have mentioned him..

He has a current contract in the Championship, the discussion has just reappeared because he's now open for a move to representing NZ since the FIFA rule change.

Not a genuine option for the coming season.

Fallon couldn't score in a brothel full of monkeys with a basket of bananas!!!

Over 250 games and 56 goals at a level higher than Smeltz ever played - wouldn't mind him in the side C-Diddy.
From what I can tell having talked to a few Plymouth fans over there - he's a bit like a Kiwi Viduka - if he's on he's great  but can be a bit lazy - still probably better qualified than any other striker we've had - 6 foot 2 so great target and only 27.

Killens just scored two goals for Celtic. Lets hope that Killen gets so much game time for Celtic that we dont need this other striker to play for us

Killie had his most successful spell of hi career under Mowbray at Hibs so could be good for the AW's

I've watched a few Plymouth games and Fallon has been one of the best on ground each time. Doesn't score that many but plays other guys in well. No chance of coming here, though.

He would be a class signing but not one we should waste our time with just yet. Once he has pledged himslef to the All Whites then we can slowly work into him. but untill then I think it is better for NZ to have him over there

I don't think he will have a pay cut by playing in the A-League.

Remember the English Championship is one of the richest leagues in the world despite being level two of the English Football Pyramid. Easily in the top 10. The first or not second richest second level league in the world.

Any Kiwi football player who makes a living in the English Championship or EPL, is doing very well and until the A-League becomes close to the types of salaries floating even at English Championship level, you might as well forget about trying to get him to play for us.

Tell me, can we really match or better the 300,000 transfer fee that Championship team Plymouth Argyle paid for him to league one team Swansea City? Since it is a Championship team that we are buy off, do you think that 300,000 would be enough even for a reserve forward?

Honestly I can't wait for Rory Fallon to set up quality ball service to Shane Smeltz and Chris Killen. He (as an attacking midfielder/deep forward) and Simon Elliot (as a defending midfielder) in the middle of the field would link up well.

Of course it is the depth of players in many positions and so not having enough squad competition that may undo the team competitive edge.

Actually it's Mr Ramos but he probably wouldn't mind being called "Rambo"

It's hard enough living in Saudi - he lives in the sticks in Saudi - he will probably just about pay us to get out.

Obviously hope he works out but not as confident as I was with Putter but that's more to do with Putter's pedigree being known.

Wasn't there another striker signing that was under contract negotiation - a proven striker who wouldn't require a trial ? Anyone know if that possibility still has a pulse or not ?

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)
