Na, you keep him Egan, he is consistantly crap.
Why he's your captain I've haven't worked out, did you lot confuse him with his brother or something, we'll have him.

With Fred gone we need someone to step into the central creative attacking role. In the last few games it has been Daniel who has replaced Fred. Seems obvious that he should start there. Hearfield is a good player but he is completly different to Fred. He is a wide player. The few attempts this season to play him more centrally have been a dismal failure(i.e first shambles against Perth)

Before Fred the Phoenix posed no threat down the middle. It was too easy for defenders to shut down our attacks down the flanks. At least Daniel has the potential, with his better ball skills to play the more central role. I think it would be a huge tactical error to start Hearfield against Perth. Daniel does however need to up his tempo...both on defense and attack. Sure hope he has been watching Fred the last few weeks.

Daniel is also a very different player to Fred. Fred is a much more balanced player imo - in that he's good with his defensive duties as well. Just because they are both Brazilian doesn't mean they play the same.

Perth's jamie coyne is out for the phoenix game.

Good news for us. He's been their most consistant player.

I am certainly happy he is not playing...

I don't rate him, do you want him?

I never rated him until the last few games. He's been good.

The question about Daniel was  not asked directly but my guess is that Ricki back Hearfield's fitness and ability to get back and forward, something Daniel lacks, plus he commented that both Fred and Daniel have free roles on the park and this is probably why we don't see them both together

No doubt I will be proved wrong and on Sat Daniel will start

I'd choose Daniel over Hearfiled, personally. However, Hearfield is probably better suited to play in Fred's role, but I think he lacks flair and vision compared to Daniel.

Daniel's impact is a cumulative one I feel. You have to be prepared to put up with him falling on his arse and doing a few crappy flick passes to get the benefit of his often brilliant penetrating passes and crosses, not to mention his goals. He showed that time and time again last season, and even early this season before he mysteriously fell out of favour. I really want to see him starting games again.

Having said that you get the feeling that with an ounce more confidence Hearfield could turn into a very valuable player. He is still too reluctant to take on his man: I'm just waiting to see if he actually has that skill or not.

Either Christie or Hearfield to be omitted, probably Christie I'd say.

I'd say Dodd, I'm expecting a back four of Manny, Siggy, Dura and Lochhead and with McKain in midfield we have plenty of defenders in the squad
You know we belong together...

Massive shame Gao not playing.

Would love to have seen him swallowed by the Seamonster.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Looks like Hearfield has been given the nod to start ahead of Daniel.

I still would go for Daniel to replace Fred. Last season Daniel was near the top of the A-League for assists. We need him on the park to try and regain some of that form. It might take him a game or two but we will need those skills in the tight run off to make the top 4.

Hearfield is a good young player and can provide good crosses. But he is still learning his trade and does not have the presence yet to boss a game from attacking midfield. Fred bought more balance to the team. Daniel is the most likely option to fill the attacking mid role.

Unfortunately the boss will probably chose Hearfield. I have nothing against the lad but going for another wide attacker won't get us the wins to make the top 4. We were one dimensional for the first half of the season...and were too easy to defend against. We need a central playmaker....so just select the bloke who most likely will do that job. Daniel!!!!

If we make the right selections and play the right tactics we CAN make the top 4. Anyway thats the end of my rant!!!!! Hearfield will probably get a bloody hattrick Saturday

I'm thinking Ferrante will be a central playmaker player.

Well, playing more forward than he has been.

looking for a two or three goal win to be honest.
I'd like to see Daniel start but obviously he's not going to - but his goals and assists last season should give him at least a half hour tomorrow. Hopefully we will see him off the bench with a huge impress and a couple of goals next to his name

Hearfield named to start over Daniel. Bit disappointed but hopefully he has a cracking game.

worth remembering that Troy H was being introduced in that role before fred came and started in our win v sydney

to be honest whilst i like seeing Daniel on the park, I'm not too bothered -as long as we WIN!

every time we seem to play the glory it always seems to be a must win fixture and we have lost both of them. Heres hoping we can keep our winning streak against them at home tonight!

I have little confidence in winning...

But it is a must win match for us as well.

I do wonder who will be on Ruka...According to a few nux supporters you have nobody in defence to keep up with him.

hopefully we'll starve them of the ball

+ 1, it seems every game since about round 3 has been labeled a big one for us, shows the tightness and shortness of the league
