Amazing how much better we are with Ifill on the field, also statistically mind boggling how a team that goes unbeaten for so many games can lose 3 in a row.

GREAT RESULT...IFILL MOM

Griffith impressed me a lot tonight...looked very composed at left back...

And i have to say Brown was disappointing again...

A very good result there.

Nice to see/read clean sheets back to back. Would have liked to see Lindsey get a run finally. He's been on the bench 4 times now and still not touched a ball yet.

Hopefully Ifil is all good and right for the next game.

Fantastic games, fantastic result.
They dominated position early on and looked much the better side, but we broke them down and stung them.

SigmUnd and Muscat were outstanding.
Great all round team effort though, and thats what its about.
Sack Pav.

Just hope Ifill's OK ...

To be fair Dunedin was thrown a hospital pass and if they couldn't be bothered answering phone calls from Ahmad then it was doomed to fail

Auckland will rise once more

Perhaps, but this was the only proper league game they were getting this season. They might not get another one, with that sort of turn-out. Perhaps that shows that Dunedin is too far away from Christchurch to make the trip that simple, especially for a mid-week game.
Timaru next time????? Perhaps not..

Yeah a friend suggested the "2" and I said that there should be a "3" on the back just in case the unthinkable happens. Reversible sign.

superb tactics, execution and work rate

great contribution by Iffy - hope that ice did the trick!

we must hang on to Manny!

Re attendance, Wellington on a Wednesday would have struggled to crack 4k so I wouldn't say it reflects too poorly on Dunedin.

Daylight between the Dunedin crowd and the Moorwell crowd!

Woot woot!!!

How good was that. The lads played with pride and guts. Perfect tactics by Rickie....he is good at that sort of man the barricades play. Raw passing got slower and slower as we wore them down.

Hope Ifill is not too badly injured ......looks like groin again....ferk! is that another 5 weeks?

Just a matter of time till I clear them oot I tell ye! Anyway, I am about $5 up for the night, Ifill first goalscorer was a real bet...sadly only put $2.50 on at 9/1 though...

top result
right tactics and executed well enough

I laugh at those who bemoaned Lia and SigmUnd. It's their work rate and wholeheartedness that keeps us in the game against better skilled players.

well done Phoenix.

Had it been on a weekend, I, and probably a few others from Wellington and elsewhere also would've gone though.

Tactically a very smart game - well done Ricki.

Our defense is looking very solid - well organised and totally committed.

I think Ifill's best position is in the middle - not on the wings - he hasn't got the gas to play winger. But one on one, one on two, one on three - 20 to 30 yards out he's lethal. He needs to stay central and operate in tandem with Greeny or whoever. Bertos and Ward can play wide.

Final word on the youngster - I thought he did all that was asked of him - I don't think he'll set the world alight but he did more than OK.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

The Courier Mail are leading with a story with a picture of Berisha celebrating a goal. Looks like they were a little presumptuous and prepared the story beforehand lol.

I agree regarding the lack of Brisbane's plan B - no desire to take long(ish) shots or play the ball into the box in the air.

Personally I think Ricki keeping Ifill on as long as he did, was a superb tactical win :D
